It’s rare for a G.M. give much away on the podium at the Scouting Combine, but Eagles G.M. Howie Roseman made an exception Thursday.

Roseman strongly indicated that the team will sign quarterback Trent Edwards shortly.

Of course, Roseman could be open about it because Edwards isn’t exactly in high demand. He did not finish last season with a team.

The other big takeaway from Roseman’s session: He was more optimistic than ever about DeSean Jackson’s future in Philly.

“We’re excited about the future of DeSean Jackson in Philadelphia,” Roseman said.

UPDATE 5:54 p.m. ET: The Eagles have announced that Edwards has been signed to a one-year deal.
