Now they free up the tag for either Scott Wells or Matt Flynn. I bet they re-sign Wells right before the deadline to use the tag and then slap it on Flynn. They then ship Flynn to Miami along with AJ Hawk or James Jones and get their 1st round pick in return.

They will then use that pick to select one of the top pass rushers in the draft either Coples, Ingram or Mercilus and then use Pick 28 to take the BPA at CB, S or another pass rusher.

I’m picking them 10-6 and on the road in the playoffs for the first round.

He had a down year last year but before that EVERY team is this league wanted him. He has an incentive deal and will have a MONSTER year as GB wins SB 47.

Word is now, they are dumping a pro bowl center and going for a rookie out of Wisconsin in the first round. Another no no.

Apparently the coaches and managers don’t see the need for a PASS rush. I mean the best rushers are in the first round. If they pass on those they can pretty much kiss next season good bye.

I’m picking them 10-6 and on the road in the playoffs for the first round.

Why? There’s plenty of Packer fans that don’t like him around here. He’s got a mouth, a me first attitude, is unrealiable, and not worth the trouble.

He’s going to end up like Ryan Grant, not bad, but certainly not a game changer by any means.

The coach and all his teammates say he’s the hardest working guy in practice….for gosh sakes he’s only 1 year removed from an injury that everyone tells you takes into the second year to be back to normal. Other than Gronk and Graham, he had the 3rd best numbers for a football……..and oh by the way, his quarterback was taken out of blow out games, unlike Bree’s and Brady the stat hounds. Rodgers sat out a full game and was talen out of games at the end which would have totaled anther game and one quarter

The fact that Green Bay paid more than the franchise tag number for him already in this first year of his contract makes me believe that they are serious about trying to tag Flynn and trade him.

They obviously aren’t looking for a long-term commitment to Finley just yet, and could have had him in 2012 for cheaper with the tag.

I think they’d like to, but whether they go through with is a completely different question. As for keeping Finley long term, I think this shows that they do want to keep him. They could’ve tagged him for cheaper, made his case for a big contact next season, then let him go after big money elsewhere. But instead, I think this shows that want him to prove that last year was a fluke in terms of his dropped balls (which, for all we know, it was, because I don’t seem to recall him having a problem the first 2 years. And, I believe he was still top 5 in terms of production for a TE) and see that he can live up to his potential, and give him a big contract in a couple of years after they’ve taken care of other contacts such as Rodgers and Matthews.
