Idiotic and classless comments by Rogers. Cheating, money, and greed, at the expense of keeping the sport pure, is what ruined baseball and made it boring. Everyone knows Braun ‘won’ on a technicality.
-------------------------------------

I dont know if I would say classless...but definitely idiotic.

Saying #exonerated would imply he was proven correct. Nothing was proven at all in this whole thing. Just that a rich guy who can afford the right attorney can manipulate the system any number of ways to gain freedom.

I dont really care myself either way. But after reading the HBT article on the specifics, and how exactly everything went down, I wouldnt be surprised at all to see MLB take this one to court.

Hey Bear fan just because you can use the word Mensa does not make you a member, did Hester get his invite yet? When Rodgers' speaks he can actually use his own thoughts and words. He does not say what you want to hear he says what he means....." Refreshing" Haters will never flourish, never reach the apex of success because they are too busy value judging all those that make them insecure.

Come to G.B. one and all and you will enjoy an experience like no other.......5 Star treatment to all fans, and don't be afraid to wear your teams colors we enjoy competition!

I am sure it has already been said in these comments but Rodgers is an idiot. Braun was cleared because of procedural flaws. The positive test was never argued, just the way it was handled. Exonerated means that the positive test was in fact wrong.

It is the same as a guy who beat up someone and there is a ton of witness but beats the charges because, the cops mishandled some evidence, or didn't read the criminal his rights, or prosecutors messed up the law.

Discount double check.

monster 49 you need to actually read the story for the facts. The person (MLB employee?)was supposed to take it to fed ex in a timely manner and instead took it home with him

----------------------------------------

Right back at you. Seems like a lot of people here dont know the facts.

It was a Saturday evening. The 5 local approved Fed Ex locations were not open. The next available time to drop it off was Monday. The courier was doing his job. He put it in what he considered a safe location, his fridge.

Read the article about this over on HBT. It sure sounds according to the facts, like all necessary measures were met, except what is considered a secure fridge. And that is up for interpretation too.

In other words, the MVP tested positive, and they didnt want another stain on baseball. They erred on the side of caution, and let the guy off because they could.

If he werent the MVP, most likely, the suspension would still stand.

Greg, speaking as a Wisconsinite and Cheesehead, we love the friendship shared by our two most revered and adored sports icons in our state. It's an amazing feeling having two MVP's in our state, as small as our markets may be. But what is even more amazing is having that connection between the two. The special bond they have forged. It's one thing, in our small markets and tight knit state, to have a NFL MVP, as well as National League MVP as well! But it just feels so right being a Wisconsinite, knowing the men we so idolize and look up to have forged such a special bond. You don't see this often , if ever. You dont often hear about this barrier being broken, two sports superstars becoming best friends. Idols in the same state! It's so special to be a Cheesehead. We love Ryan and Aaron!

So transparent.
BTW: The chain of custody was never broken nor was the seal broken which was signed by Bruan.

I couldn't seem to reply, so I have to quote to respond. Please bear with me.

"No way he didn’t put something into his body to cause the highly elevated testosterone. They already let someone take it FedEx and overnight it, so 24 hours of ambient temperature are not an issue. If it sat for 48 hours ( this wasn’t a cop who believed he was guilty) then was overnighted, testosterone wouldn’t synthesize or replicate itself. Since there is no motive for tampering, it is a moot point. The person taking it to FedEx could always tamper with it on the way to ship it.

Braun got off on a breach of contract, but he most certainly broke the PED rules."

Everyone hates lawyers...until they need one. There's a *reason* laymen shouldn't defend themselves in the court of law: they aren't educated in law.

Neely, I'm not trying to hammer you here, because you're saying what many are thinking (even me, to a large extent). But the problem is, that's now how a country...this country, the United States...can run its legal system. What you've said is what we call "specious". (Specious: 1. apparently good or right though lacking real merit; superficially pleasing or plausible: specious arguments. 2. pleasing to the eye but deceptive.) In other words...it looks good; it sounds good. But there's just something wrong about it.

Most people use the naked eye approach. They use "common sense". The common sense, naked eye view of this is that Braun got off on a technicality, but we all know better.

But when it comes to our law.....and THANK GOD for this.....it's not about what we think...it's not about what we believe. It's about what we know.

You state that you know there is no motive for tampering? Really? Because that's exactly why there is a "technical process" in place for how samples are to be handled. The idea is to eliminate any possibility that someone with motive could affect the process. That's why it's done. You don't know whether some deranged Cubs fan (sorry, Cub fans) decided to fork out more money than that courier could turn down (does he have a cousin with cancer?). Stranger things have happened. The idea behind the process is to make it impossible for the slew of possibilities to come to fruition.

"he most certainly broke the PED rules". Well...then what's the point of having a contract, spelling out the process? What's the point of having courts? 99% of the time I can hear the "evidence" and just skip all that rigamarole and throw the lousy bastard in prison. Well...until I hear of the hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of prisoners being released from prison based on DNA evidence who were put there "beyond reasonable doubt". I often wonder what the hell people call "reasonable" anymore.

And that's why we have law. And that's why we have lawyers. And when the day comes that it's your DNA linked to a murder, you're going to be damned supportive of the testing process "technicalities".

@themonster49: From what I heard, you have your facts wrong. It was lab personnel who did not drop the sample with FedEx on a Saturday because he didn't want it to stay in the facility over the weekend. There was confusion over the requirement to ship the sample ASAP. His mistake was not keeping it in the lab over the weekend instead of taking it home.

But the point is that Braun's legal team did not dispute the positive test result - just the chain-of-custody procedure technicality. So Roger's is congratulating a 'cheater' - and it is he who will be eating crow once the truth sinks in.

One thing i have realized while pondering this whole thing and reading peoples comments, is... Rodgers, most likely, got his info from one side, regardless of who or how or when, though most likely since the beginning.

Would you tell anyone, even your best friend, if you were guilty, if they couldnt get you out of it? Nope, you would lie to them. I go out of my way to do no wrong but the odds are not in my favor if i was ever in that situation, i would probably end up telling the lie to a lot of people.

P.S. Have you ever heard of any package carrier taking your packages home for a couple of days? Ever? For any reason? Arent these packages scanned and tracked and accounted for? Two days are you serious how did nobody oh i dont know go looking for it, these drivers are reemed to the T if they screw something up, that goes for being absolutely responsible for all packages on that truck. FedEx wouldnt have waited two days first off, they would have discovered where it was and went and got it and fired him by the second day. As to the other reason some people mentioned, this is a billion dollar enterprise with government eyes specifically watching the process of banned substances, stories dont get changed that far by any league to make one person not look like half the people in the country.

Ok, so maybe the guy is innocent. But probably not.
