Coughlin enjoying “magnificent blur”

Tom Coughlin AP

Giants coach Tom Coughlin was asked Friday afternoon what it’s like to be back in Indianapolis so soon after his second Super Bowl title.

“I feel like I was just here. I was,” Coughlin said.

He says the great memories are on “every street corner. . . . It’s a little bit of a blur, but it’s a magnificent blur.”

Once the reverie was over, Coughlin actually gave out some useful nuggets:

1. Coughlin has not had serious contract extension talks with the Giants. His contract runs out in 2012.

2. On Brandon Jacobs: “As far as I’m concerned, he’s a big part of [the Giants' future].”

3. Coughlin fully expects Osi Umenyiora to be on the team next season.

The title makes it sound like he was watching scrambled porn on basic cable.

Single-champion coaches in NY get the “let’s see you do it again” scrutiny. Multi-champion coaches in NY get a blank check from the fans. Coughlin is as gold as Parcells to Giants fans right now.

katrinasafterbirth, you must be a simpleton? NY City is a wonderful place, probably a much better place than you live. Perhaps it’s even better because you don’t live there? You should watch what you say because it just shows your total ignorance. I don’t live New York City, but I love New York City.
How did your football team do?

You must listen to talk radio and assume those morons calling those shows actually matter? Half of those guys haven’t been to a game in 25 years, or haven’t ever been.

I’ve been at every single Giants game since Coughlin took over, and before that. I haven’t missed one game. You couldn’t be MORE WRONG about how people feel about Coughlin. So save your trashing of the big city for more of a relevant point.

For the record, you can kiss Tom’s rosy red CHEEKS.

He stuck it to every single one of you haters by preaching a team first attitude, win or loss.

    LINE UP AND KISS IT!

As a Giants fan, I have openly speculated as to Coughlin’s job security many times and questioned him as a coach. This is one of many examples why nobody pays me for my football insight. All that said…DON’T EVER LEAVE, COACH!!! WE LOVE YOU!!!

I love all you fans from flyover states who say NY fans whine and cry even though their teams have won recent championships. Every team’s fans should demand such excellence, every year. these teams make too much money and hte fans invest too much to be treated to a subpar product.

when you live in the greatest city in the world you can complain about subpar teams because you have not been conditioned to accept mediocrity

unless jacobs secretely told tom that he’ll play for the veteran minimum next season, i seriously dont see how he’s part of the giants future.

As much as one hates the Giants and their fans you have to like this guy. Classic throwback to when the game was everything.
