BDawk is a class act, I was heartbroken when he left the Eagles, but I can’t blame them for not matching the contract at the time. Looking back now, he was still better than anyone else they ran out there at safety. Part of me thinks for his sake he should hang them up, but as an Eagles fan, I wouldn’t mind seeing number 20 in Eagles green one more season. It will probably be the last 20 you see in Eagles history.

At 38 he’s still better than 75% of the starting FS’s in the league. If he wants to keep playing he will. Would’nt hurt my feelings for him to not play for the Donkeys, would look real good in silver n black Brian.

Come back to Philadelphia Brian…I don’t care if you can’t play anymore, at the very least you could take over for Juan Castillo…That would be one heck of an upgrade. You can retire here as well, just come back darn it.

If I were Dawkins, I’d have a problem coming back to Phillie. Being allowed to walk after so many years service. I’m sure Brian knows what Denver’s offer will be and the team is likely just giving him time to consider his future. I hope he becomes a coach soon. He’s still better than 80% of safeties, but it’s tough seeing him getting hurt like this.

Please come to the Vikings!!! we could use a smart veteran safety on a 1 year deal to sure things up in the secondary til 2013 draft class. Hes played under Leslie before and even at 38 he played at a high level in Denver when healthy. Skol Vikes

Favorite player ever, hands down. Best leader on a football field hands down. Makes Ray Lewis look like a cub scout leader. Great man, great player, great leader.
Eagles should have kept him for these last three years and now they could have let him walk with no complaints from anyone. Maybe they could have won a title in that time. Bad move by Eagles FO on a once in a generation leader. Did I mention he is a great leader?

Every few often a player like Brian Dawkins comes around and if this is the end of the road for him, its been one heck of a career that will one day be fulfilled in Canton. Just wish he had won a Super Bowl, no one deserved it more.

definitely my favorite player of all time. i hope he goes out on the high road and retires now. i hate it when legends cant walk away when they cant perform at the same level.

if the eagles front office had any brains, they would resign brian dawkins to a 1 day contract when he decides to retire. he needs to retire as an eagle.

I’m a Cowboys fan and he is still one of my favorite players. I love how hard he played, sacrificed his body and was a great leader. I hope that guy gets a ring somewhere this year he deserves it. First ballot HOF in my book.

On Dawkins, he was very well liked here in Denver, but he should retire an Eagle. Denver should work out a deal where he’s released and resigned in Philly in the same day. He deserves this much.

Weapon X the best FS I have ever seen yea you can make an argument for some other players but this guy is a beast he never quit every game he played with heart even if we were losing. I’d love him to be back as eagle. Damn when we let him go that’s when I wished they would ve fired ried he’s the eagles missing piece for a championship.

I can acknowledge quality players when I see ‘em, though I wish they were on da Steelers’ roster if they already aren’t. Dawkins was one of the top safeties in the league for a significant period of time. Possibly Hall of Fame, even, and a leader on and off the field from what the media has portrayed of him over the years. He will be missed. Hopefully he can still be involved with the NFL and have time for his family.

I’d like to see him come back just bc I’m an eagles fan and the guy is just pure class act. The eagles would have been smart to convert him to the weak side LB position. He was playing close to scrimmage his last couple years anyway and I think he would’ve been a heck of a run stopper. He wouldve been better than the stiffs they’ve had the last couple years. Hopefully they draft and pick up a free agent LB this year. #bleedgreenforlife
