Georgia offensive lineman Cordy Glenn played left tackle as a college senior, but some draftniks pegged him as a guard in the pros due to questionable movement skills and technique.
Glenn may have laid to rest concerns about the former with highly impressive, if “unofficial,” forty times of 4.96 and 5.09 at the Scouting Combine on Saturday. NFL Network listed Glenn’s ten-yard split at 1.76, the same as former No. 1 overall pick Jake Long at the 2008 Combine.
“His movement skills are kind of blowing me away,” said NFL Network draft analyst Mike Mayock. “I did not expect him to come out and move around like a gazelle.”
Glenn is 6-foot-5 3/4 and 345 pounds, and he can move. On Friday, Glenn put up 31 reps of 225 pounds with 35 3/4-inch arms. He’s long and strong in the upper body.
Glenn is making a serious case to stay at tackle in the NFL, which would increase his draft stock.
