Getty ImagesWith all eyes back on Indy for the second time in less than a month, Colts owner Jim Irsay continues to “keep it in house” regarding Peyton Manning by “putting it on Twitter.”
Irsay’s latest Peyton-related post goes a little something like this: “Not sure why some speculate that Peyton n I haven’t met in person recently..we’ve met in person n communicated frequently n last week or so.”
The broader question is whether Irsay and Peyton have met to discuss his contract, and his future with the team. And there’s still no evidence that has happened, on Irsay’s cryptic at times, illegible at others Twitter account or elsewhere.
So unless Irsay is willing to say that he and Peyton have met to discuss his contract and/or his future with the team, it doesn’t matter whether and to what extent they’re communicating on other topics.
Its a good thing Irsay doesn’t crave attention. Keep it low key Jimmy

Irsay is so full of crap. He is just trying to court public opinion before he refuses to pay Peyton the $28 mill. I agree with Irsay’s decision but not his chicken shxx methods.
Somebody remind MErsay that he owns the Colts and is not a reality star.

Irsay has to put out this information because Manning is trying to make him the bad guy. Manning’s communication consists of requests for more money. Look, Manning is done. He was done last year but was sneaky enough to steal $28 million from the Colts. Now he’s trying to con anyone into paying him millions more for doing nothing. Manning can’t throw anymore and doesn’t want anyone to know it. Irsay is being a prudent team owner and businessman. And Manning is pouting like a little girl. He’s worth well over $100 million and greedily wants more even though he can no longer play in the NFL. He’s a greedy Swamp Boy.

Im not 100% on this but Didnt the Colts have some sort of Insurance on Peyton Mannings health? I know it happens in other sports. So the colts may have paid him 20 something million but probaley re couped 75% of that or so.
They do communicate frequently. Here is a typical conversation:
Phone rings in Irsay’s office.
Irsay: “Hello”
Manning: “Jim, have you waived me yet?”
Irsay: “Not yet Peyton.”
Manning: “K, talk to you next week.”
Irsay: “Bye”
Manning: “Later”
Irsay has continued to lie like a dog in all of this. Peyton has as always, took the high road. I wish they would just get this over and let Manning get to what ever team he is going to win with. And of coarse let the colts begin down their new paved road to insignificance:-)

Jim: really, it’s no problem…. the Phins will think we are cutting you a check any second… they’ll step up… stop worrying.

Up until yesterday I was sure Peyton gets cut and colts sign luck.
Now I’m having second thoughts. Peyton said last week he would consider signing an incentive based contract because teams quite naturally are scared for his health. Well, perhaps these are the discussions irsay is having with Peyton. Furthermore, luck said he’d hold his clipboard. Maybe the colts are reassuring the kid not to worry, we’re giving manning a shot, but he’s one hit away from retirement (no big deal with new contract). If Luck also signs, the colts would’ve managed to pull off, what until now, has been considered an impossibility. Could happen.
Mjkelly77 not sure why you are such a hater but Mr. Irsay knew when he signed Peyton that he had the problem with his neck. Nobody twisted his arm to write that check last year. You know, we shouldn’t overlook the possibility that Peyton will still end up playing for the Colts under a new contract.
Irsay can’t watch him throw, so the Colts cut Peyton.
Then they start working on a new deal that the Colts can live with (based on passing a physical and perhaps performance-based bonuses).
Peyton comes back at a reduced rate, plays out his career in Indy, mentors a young Andrew Luck, and retires a Colt.
I’m not saying that this is absolutely going to happen. I’m not calling my shot, here. I’m just saying that it wouldn’t surprise me if this happened. It would really come down to how much Peyton likes playing for that organization and how badly he wants to stay with one team for his career. Does he want those things more than he does money and/or another ring?

Peyton is done as a Colt. We all know this. Peyton will chase a team that needs a decent qb to win playoff games. He seen Eli win his second ring and that bruised peytons ego. We all know that! And the Colts aren’t a team that are playoff contenders n the whole O-line will be new. Peyton knows he’ll get christopher reeved back there. On behalf of my Colts I would like to thanks Peyton for the great years and all the regular season wins and one SB win and another SB appearance. U will be a balot first HOF. And all Colts fans wish u well on your next journey!

The owner of an Indianapolis pharmacy has given federal investigators records showing he filled 120 prescriptions over about a one-year period — including the painkiller OxyContin — for Colts owner Jim Irsay, the store’s attorney said Monday.
Records from Nora Apothecary show that all but one of the scripts were written by Dr. W. Gregory Chernoff, a prominent local plastic surgeon involved in a federal investigation into alleged prescription drug fraud.
And in one 24-day period last spring, Irsay got 400 tablets of OxyContin: four prescriptions of 100 40-milligram tablets each, records show.
Why can’t a grown man, actually all of society just spell out simple three letter words on Twitter? Is it honestly that hard?

Goobs, It’s been mentioned several times, the Colts can’t trade Manning. It’s either release him or resign him. Hope that concept isn’t too complex for you.
The players including Saturday and Vini-T have all publicly stated Manning will be fine, they are on record saying he’ll be as good.
The Colts, “Irsack” have been leaking false stories about his neck, his arm and all this hogwash to try to stonewall any deal he could get from anyother team. “Irsack” hopes to resign him, but when his value is basically zero, then he would hope Manning would retire by believing the B.S from the same doctors that cleared him almost a year ago to sign Manning longterm in the first place. This media ploy was just to force Manning into retirement by disgracing his public image. This isn’t even a conspiracy, its really that obvious especially when your stupid owner is on Twitter leaking the info himself. Any fourth grader can figure out who the leak is.
I hope Manning leaves, I really do. The Colts took him for granted for so many years, mainly their front office. They were way past their primes and were riding on his coattails squeezing every last drop until they finally had an injury occur and it sealed everyone’s fate. They were past their due since 2005, go to another team Manning we hope you do even better then before:)
