On-field Scouting Combine drills start Saturday morning

The first two days of the Scouting Combine entail plenty of talk, and little action.  On Saturday, it’s time for some action.

Are you ready for some non-football football?

The drills commence on the turf of Lucas Oil Stadium at 9:00 a.m. ET on Saturday, with offensive linemen and tight ends taking their turns.  (Technically, kickers and punters worked out on Friday.  So, again, the drills start on Saturday.)  On Sunday, the quarterbacks, running backs, and receivers get to work.

Monday, defensive linemen and linebackers do their thing.  On Tuesday, the defensive backs show what they can do.

NFL Network will be televising the workouts, with Rich Eisen hosting.  On Monday, Rich will run his annual 40-yard dash; it’ll be televised Tuesday.

Rich joined PFT Live on Friday to talk about his 40-yard dash and other things, including the players he’s looking forward to interviewing from Lucas Oil Stadium.

The segment gets started with a montage of clips of folks who ran the 40-yard dash at work, at the behest of the folks at NFL Network.

Finally. There are only 2 seasons in the US, football season and waiting for football season. May is the only “dead” month. Combine, FA, draft, dead, OTAs, TC, preseason, and boom season’s here already. Anyone else love them some football?

Sometimes I wish I had the nfl network, but times like this make me glad I’m not wasting my money.

Get your sundials ready. Stopwatches don’t have enough battery.

I can see the Eagles screwing up the draft again this year. The only way to save money is to learn how to tell talent and to draft well but the Eagles haven’t figured that out yet.

Watching OL run the 40 is still more interesting than basketball!
