This dude reminds me of a former first round pick of the packers bout 20-22 years ago. everybodys sayn all the rite things his times n measurements r perfect.

lets hope he turns out better than Tony (the turnstyle) Mandarich

Kalil will go to the Vikings at #3, because the Rams will trade their #2 pick (to a QB-hungry team who will select RG3) for a boatload of high picks. Count on it.

In other words, given the Rams draft history, i’m not too sure if I want them to spend another 1st round pick on an offensive tackle. Physical characteristics, body type, 40 yard dash speed, etc – they’re all useful indicators as to a player’s talent, but there is NO WAY of knowing who is going to deliver on Sundays, and who won’t. That’s why there’s such a thing as a first round “bust” – because the player’s pro career did not measure up to his combine statistics and college accolades, despite what the “experts” said about him.

Therefore, if i’m the Rams, I trade that #2 pick for a king’s ransom. If you have one dart to shoot at a target, then you have a good chance at missing altogether. But if you can trade that one dart for multiple darts and multiple shots, then you have a greater chance at hitting a bullseye.

Dude, that’s why the NFL Draft is the ultimate crapshoot. No one thought Cam Newton would have the rookie season he had. Remember when Glenn Dorsey was the “Safest pick” in the draft. How’d that work out for KC? You take Kalil because you have a need at LT, and you hope he works out. If he doesn’t, you’re screwed. If he does, you have your franchise QB’s blind side protector for the next 10 years.

Too much hype is scary. Does anyone remember Tony Manrich (spelling?). There are several good tackles so Vikes may want to trade down and get picks. If the guy looks too good to be the future, maybe he isn’t!

The Rams need to draft him. Blackmon’s a sexy pick, but you don’t want Bradford to suffer the David Carr syndrome. Jason Smith was one of the biggest busts in recent years, it’s Kalil or nothing at #2.

If this is a QB league then left tackle is the second most important position on the field. The physical characteristics of a great left tackle are really rare. Thick thighs and legs, long arms, and nimble feet on a man at least 6′ 4 and 300lbs is as rare as it gets. On top of that you’ll have to be technically sound at the position.

The Rams really can’t wrong. They can get an outragous bounty by trading the 2nd pick or they can stay put at number 2 (especially if they feel they already have a great QB on their roster).

Kalil is the most sure thing in this draft, even more than Luck. Luck just happens to be a quarterback.
