If anyone reflects that team it’s Scott who like the blowhard who camped out at his door, talks a bigger game than he actually plays. Playing next to RayRay cloaked his weaknesses – the right thing to do would have been to tithe Lewis half of Scott’s contract amounts.

As a fan who roots for an opposing team, I’m sorry to see that rather large sized melanoma removed from that still very dysfunctional clubhouse.

When will these guys learn to stop burning bridges. Ed Hartwell did it, Jamie Sharper did it, Adalius Thomas did it, and Bart Scott did it. They all complained about all the love that Ray Lewis gets and acted like jealous fools once leaving. They all sank on their next team really fast and had worn out their welcome so bad that they couldn’t go back to the one team that could make them look better than they were and prolong what was left of their dwindling careers.

There will be 30 options out there for Bart.

NOTHING about Bart Scott has EVER been “tremendous” except his mouth. He should thank his lucky stars he has a very good defensive coach in Rex who made his career. The NYJ defense had talent when RR took over (Revis, D, Harris, etc) and he made them all better. He even hood(ie) winked BB because his defense in Balt made Adalius Thomas (argh, we Pats fans are still cussing over this one) look like something HE wasn’t either.

1. No team will make a trade offer for him since they know he will be cut.
2. The Jets will still take a cap hit no matter what (play with the cap monster long enough and it will eat your team in time)
3. It’s good to see Rex’s guarantee of team unity is working out so well.
4. It’s becoming obvious the biggest fool is Tanny not Rex. (remember Gholston?)
5. At least Rex isn’t stupid enough to suggest Sbowl anymore… because that’s not even a wet dream from here on out.

Lost in all of this is the fact that the Tannebaum guy gives out ridiculous contracts that are not team friendly, see Shake and bake and the aforementioned Bart Scott. I am sure there are many others.

Sanchez had 32 combined touchdowns this year, his 3rd in the NFL. That was tied for 6th most in the NFL.. who exactly are all these backups that would have been better? He was not the problem this year.. he was victimized by a weak o-line, receivers who quite simply could not get open (Plaxico moves around like my grandfather on the field), and arguably the worst offensive coordinator in the NFL who has now moved on to St. Louis (poor Sam Bradford is screwed this year). Everyone is quick to jump on Sanchez and it’s completely unjustified.

You are apparently one of those people that think that a defense is only as good as the yards they give up, which is an absolute ridiculous stat. A better stat would be points per game. Here is the comparison:

2009
Jets: 14.8 (1)
Ravens: 16.3 (3)

2010
Jets: 19 (6)
Ravens: 16.9 (3)

2011
Jets: 22 (20)
Ravens: 16.6 (3)

In 2008 the ravens ranked…you guessed it 3rd in PPG. So on one hand you have a team that can transition from one DC to the next, change HCs and continue to be consistent on defense, and on the other hand you have a team that took a huge leap forward in 2009, and is rapidly falling. I think I know which one I would choose.
