Im surprised there isnt more Brandon Jacobs hate comments on here yet.

“Can’t get 4th and 1″. “Tip toes at the line.”

The guy has over 60 TDs in his career. Come talk to me when your RB does the same, with one team. Better yet – he’s situational, so when he’s brought in at the goal line, and EVERYONE IN THE ENTIRE STADIUM knows he’s running it, and he still scores – that is why he’s a good fit for the Giants.

2 rings… How many rings does your team have in last 10 years? I expect everyone except NE and Pitt to keep their mouth SHUT.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Umm yeah. Because you aren't a troll. Deal with it.

east96st - Comparing Jacobs to Toomer/Tyree is apples and oranges. Neither were offered contracts after their time was up proving they were done. Jacobs will have suitors.

You and others talk about him being done, a "shadow of himself", on the downside of his career, etc. You do realize that he's just turning 30 and before this year came off a career best 5.8 ypc, right? Running backs aren't our problem. They'd look much better back there if that sloth David Baas wasn't getting his soft head pushed back on every play. By the way....who do you want instead? Da'rel Scott?? Please. He's a third-down scat back at best this early in his career. Ware? Dude wouldn't start on my pick-up team. Any other free agents will cost much more than Jacobs. Why not stick with a great lockerroom, team guy who knows the system and is the cheaper alternative?? This doesn't have to do with homerism. It's the smart play.

I used to play in a pickup basketball game every week. It was 5 on 5 full court with 3 subs on each team. There was this guy who was always like the 2nd sub off the bench. But he was the best trash talker on the court at all times. He would chirp until the cows came home when his team won, but when his team lost he would complain about other guys not showing up or playing bad and him not getting enough shots.

Jacobs has been a shadow of himself. Last season on runs to the outside he was often taken down by cornerbacks in the open field. Once a beast, he can't buy a yard on third-and-1.

Goodbye Brandon.

jakek2 - Fortunately, JR doesn't make personnel decisions based on what happened in Super Bowl 42 or Armani Toomer and David Tyree would be our starting WRs. Yes, the O line is a major problem. No disagreements there. But Jacobs is on the downward slide. Remove your homer glasses and see it for what it is. If we can keep him on the cheap, I'm all for it. But no way the guy deserves that kind of cash when NY is over the cap and has much more pressing signings to take care of.

east96st - You make it sound like he's never converted a 4th and 1 in his life. In fact, he's 8 for 16 in his career and those have come when everyone in the stadium and their mothers knew he was getting the ball and the OL was blown back 3yds deep. He also converted the most important 4th and 1 in the team's history (last drive in SB42). For that alone, he's earned a lifetime of 4th and 1 failures.

You can count all the dopey bloggers to come out from under their rocks when a Jacobs thread is posted.

The line was in transition this year. Nobody ran well behind it. Dopes say he hasn't been effective since the year after Tiki. If they spent half the time doing research than spewing hate they'd see he ran for 5.8 ypc in 2010.

Jacobs/Bradshaw are essentially one running back. Combined, they ran for 1,200+ yds and 16 TDs and that was on a passing team with a 2/5 of their line replaced. Only 3 or so RBs in the league did better.

Keep hating. We'll keep collecting Lombardis.

Vets minimum or he can move on and fail to convert a 4th and 1 for someone else. If the guy was reliable on short yardage, like someone his size SHOULD be, I would far more interested in keeping him. Won't even go into the behavioral issues he brings to the table. Keep him if he's cheap, otherwise he becomes someone else's headache. It's time to see if Da'rel Scott can make a 4th and 1 by going over the top or around the edges. 4.3 40 RB needs to be on the field.

Thats alot of money for a team over cap.... I always liked him ( not his mouth) ...Hope they can work something out, but I would think he would have to take a pretty big pay reduction...like 2 million a year type of reduction. Isnt worth it when can get a back to fill void at 500 yards per year as a second back. If he doesnt do a drastic reducction... find a bulldozer in 4th or 5th round of draft for 600, ooo a year.

Who is this beast / bulldozer the 3 posters above me are talking about?

Jacobs is washed up ...he is among the worst in the league at converting 3rd and short situations - the very supposed situation he is meant to be good at (so-called power / short-yardage back)

Jacobs is only great when he's at top gear ie force = mass x acceleration

Problem is, he doesn't have that same burst / acceleration anymore and gets stopped easily. I've never seen a guy so big go down so easily from being ankle / shoe-string tackled

The first 3 posters must've been watching a different Jacobs than the rest of us were this season - all that might've been true in 2006-08 but it sure as hell isn't true anymore

I am going to laugh if the Midgets let him go. They do not realize what they have. I hope it comes back to bite them. Could you imagine if he gets picked up inside the division. Dallas would not go for him he is not the home run hitter they like. He does not catch good enough out of the back field to go to Philly and Mike Shanahan prefers to run young RB's into the ground and than get rid of them.

Im surprised there isnt more Brandon Jacobs hate comments on here yet.

"Can't get 4th and 1". "Tip toes at the line."

The guy has over 60 TDs in his career. Come talk to me when your RB does the same, with one team. Better yet - he's situational, so when he's brought in at the goal line, and EVERYONE IN THE ENTIRE STADIUM knows he's running it, and he still scores - that is why he's a good fit for the Giants.

2 rings... How many rings does your team have in last 10 years? I expect everyone except NE and Pitt to keep their mouth SHUT.
