Redskins announce return of Will Montgomery, Darrion Scott

Over the weekend, a report emerged that the Redskins and center Will Montgomery had agreed to terms on a four-year deal.  On Monday, the Redskins announced the deal.

The release also mentioned the defensive end Darrion Scott (pictured) has re-signed with the team.

Scott, 30, was out of the league for two full seasons after facing disturbing allegations that he had placed a plastic bag over his son’s head.  Scott eventually pleaded guilty to child endangerment, and the league suspended him three games.

None of that deterred the Redskins, however; they’ve employed Scott for the past two seasons.  Then again, the Redskins were the only team to give in 2011 a workout to cornerback Perrish Cox, who faces a charge that he impregnated a woman who passed out at his apartment.

Coincidentally, Cox’s trial started today.  Maybe the Redskins will sign him after he’s convicted.

About Cox: let the guy have his day in court. Didn’t you uses to be a lawyer? Also I doubt the Redskins are the only team that is willing to give a guy a second chance.

So much for Shanarat building a team of “character first.”

So in the 2 years that the Redskins have employed him he’s been fine. I guess I don’t get your point. You spend 1 paragraph on Will Montgomery who is actually a bigger part of the Redskins plans and 4 paragraphs to describe the past crimes of a bit player and an ex-player. I think this post was just an excuse to bash the Redskins…which is really quite sad because this bring your blog, you don’t need any excuse to bash any team. Just title it “My umpteenth attempt to bash [NFL Team]”

The Redskins just wanted to keep him away from the Baltimore Convicts. Of course, the Jets were working their way up there to catch the Ravens and the Bungles.

Excuse the interruption, but after we got rid of Plax, all is peaceful, once again in NY.
Oh yeah, were the World Champions, come on over!
Feels real good, even with the Field Marshall, General Patton’s cousin, Tom Coughlin, ugh.

Its a shame that this story keeps getting attached to Darrion, I grew up with him and know first hand that this story has never been reported properly. The child in question, was a child Darrion had recently learned was his paternal child. He was new too his life and he had a rocky relationship with the childs mother. A few months into the new relationship, he was playing with his child when she walked in to get him and she completely over reacted to the situation and made these allegations. Was he guilty of making a dumb mistake yes, but he had no bad intentions and the child was laughing and playing at the time. (But I bet his mom got paid)
