Kinda don’t get this.

The Packers had absolutely ZERO pass rush. Clay Matthews is one guy, he can’t do it all. And no I am not trying to say that the loss of Nick Collins and Jenkins is the only problem.

That secondary was over worked having to do all the heavy lifting all year because they absolutely could not get any pressure what so ever on the quarterback. There is a reason teams like San Francisco and Houston manage to constantly disrupt the passing attack, and it helps a lot when you have a good pass rush forcing the quarterback out of his comfort zone and forcing bad passes in the wrong places. The Packers gave up even trying to get pressure after so long. They’d drop their Linebackers back in coverage, and let them get burned just like their corners and secondary. When a quarterback has ALL DAY to throw the ball, expect to see tons of long passes down the sideline. And when you refuse to not double cover a receiver that is being targeted more than once, expect to see lots of passes his way (Watch highlights of Packers defense letting Vincent Jackson burn them in SD, and Victor Cruz in the regular season game vs NY)

Charles Woodson is a future Hall of Famer and he did the best he could last year, regardless of the bad games where he would totally get burned, I would say he gave it his best try. He must have did something right to rack up some interceptions, but it’s not like he had a ton of help when the defense couldn’t pass rush or blitz.

How Sweet ! Don’t worry Lions fans you always have the refs to blame for every loss you have had in the last 20 years. Also umlike other temas you also get to compete for the arena football league title every year.

Seriously what happened to that defense this year? They went from 2nd in NFL in yards allowed in 2010 to setting a record last year for most passing yard allowed? It can’t just be because they lost Jenkins to the Eagles and Nick Collins for the season – or can it? I say get some big mean d-linemen in the draft who can collapse the pocket, and maybe a rushing OLB as well. That way the secondary won’t get beat as much deep, but will be rewarded for their risk-taking nature that has been defined by Woodson

They weren’t the only reason, but they were a huge reason. Neal was supposed to take Jenkins spot as the good rushing DE, but he’s done nothing but show some potential, and then get hurt. So overall, looking like a bust. Since theres no decent lineman, we’ve got Raji overworked. And the other OLB was decent in 2010, where as last year, they did nothing, no matter who was in. We had injuries slow down Williams and Burnett throughout the season, and Peprah just isn’t that good. Add in the lack of a pass rush, and the secondary was just having to hold for too long. I’m not a big x’s and o’s guy, but I think Capers changed up schemes to try to account for the missing players as well, which, we can all see didn’t go very well.

Their defense wasn’t the reason they lost either of their two games last year. With that said, they still badly need a pass rusher opposite Clay Matthews.
