Norv and AJ can’t be retained with Spanos. Until we have ownership that is really committed to winning nothing will ever change. As for Tolbert, he is gone and can be added to the long list of players we have let go and become productive for other teams.

He was a good role player but not an impact player like Sproles was. He won’t be like the former Chargers like Turner, Brees, Sproles and LT. I was never sold on him being one of the primary call carriers. I think they can find a replacement to fill his shoes. Hopefully they can find someone that can fill what Sproles was able to do…yeah I know, wishful thinking with AJ as GM.

Tolbert is an awesome power runner, goal-line presence, and pass catcher. Hunter is for speed and edge running, and Gore does his thing but only on 15 touches a game. perfect mix.

Pipe dream though, the 9ers will draft Anthony Dixon’s replacement unless he can step up and keep his spot.

AJ Smith is awful. Blame Turner all you want, but I think it’s all on AJ. How do you not keep Tolbert when you have Matthews who’s hurt every other week or at least once a month?

Turner leaving was sort of understandable as the team stuck with LT. Sproles was a debacle, he should have been signed rather than being franchised all those times but then you let him walk? Nice job, AJ.

Tolbert leaving won’t necessarily be the demise of this team but it will create a large void on offense as well as special teams, remember 2010? SD needs all the ST help it can get.
