Packers linebacker A.J. Hawk no longer has long hair.
Hawk cut off his hair and donated it to Wigs for Kids, a charity that makes wigs for children who lose their hair to chemotherapy or other health issues.
“Today is a special day for me as I’ve decided to cut off my hair and give it to someone who needs it more than I do,” Hawk wrote on Twitter. “Thanks to wigs for kids for partnering with us,my wife and I are proud to start Hawk’s locks for Kids which will be helping kids with cancer. No child should have to feel ashamed of themselves due to a disease. We are hoping to raise enough money and hair donations to change many lives!”
Hawk is urging others with hair 12 inches long or longer to donate it, and is organizing a hair-donating event in June.

Thank the heavens. Great player, great guy, ugly hair.
Atta boy A.J., now you gotta convince Clay Madonna Matthews to do the same
Now he probably lost all his strength…
Looks just like Tony Hawk lol
This year I will be donating my hair to locks of love (www.locksoflove.org) for the third time. I am able to donate about every 15 months
clay matthews should cut his hair too
Now if only he’d donate his LB talent to the Packers on a regular basis.
My 10yr old daughter donated her hair to locks of love a couple of years ago. Great program. Hats off to AJ Hawk for giving that great gift!!
Well, the good thing is that he doesn’t look like Rocky Dennis anymore.
All kidding aside, that’s great of him to make that kind of sacrifice for the kids.
Keep it classy and try to sway from making negative comments about a guy after he does a good deed such as this. Kudos to A.J. Hawk for his actions and for Michael David Smith to make it public, too many times these actions are overshadowed by arrests and other image-tainting disasters.
“Hawk is urging others with hair 12 inches long or longer to donate it”
That would be one of the longer requirements. Pantene Beautiful Lengths (The one I chose) only requires 8. Locks for Love requires 10.
I’d wear his hair.
Still ugly as F***
Great cause.
He looks lijpke a completely different person.
I heard Wigs for Kids is a better choice when donating hair because they give their wigs for free, whereas Locks of Love and others are for profit. Anybody know if that is true?
Class act. More players should follow his example.
I’ve often wondered why some 800 pound lineman didn’t grab Hawk and Matthews and others by the hair and swing them around.
Matthews needs to see the light too, but I suspect there’s marketing involved in it now besides being the rebel frat boy.
Way to show some class jamezz23!!!
Your a moron

Actually, that happened when the Packers switched to a 3-4 defense. Good to see that he realizes it has no inherent powers and it may as well be used for something worthwhile. You’re a Good Sam, A.J.
Can’t stand the Packers, but this is a good thing he did. Hope Clay Matthews is seeing this….but I don’t think he will cut his hair, or like women.
Too bad he didn’t do it before recording the State Farm commercials with Rogers….he just looked goofy with the hair!
He still looks like Rocky Dennis.
It actually needs to be 12 straight inches, it can’t come directly from the scalp. So you need some long hair to donate
Now if he just donated his salary back to the Green Bay Packers.
Nice guy. Below average football player.
