denver has no significant free agents worth the fanchise tag. Most key players are still in the middle of their contracts.

Plus, Prater “didn’t lose” a lot of games for the Broncos. Easy to pay him $2.6 million instead of giving eddie royal or brodrick bunkley way too much money.

Someone fell off the turnip truck today. The reason they use it on the kicker is because all of their other key people are either locked up, or they don’t mind them leaving. Plus, it is a cheap alternative than signing the guy (which Prater is CLUTCH) right away, and gives them time to negotiate a long term deal, which Denver will do.

So, maybe it is you o JackWagon that has issues.

Bailey, V. Miller, R. Clady, D. Thomas, W. McGahee, D. Williams, etc, etc) and you’re simply looking to utilize an option that can save you money and/or buy you time to negotiate a deal with your kicker who, by the way, is pretty damn good.
