APThe Chiefs on Tuesday announced the release of linebacker Demorrio Williams. Per Adam Caplan of TheSidelineView.com, the move saves $1.7 million in salary cap space.
Signed to a five-year, $16 million contract in March of 2008, Williams wound up starting only 22 games in Kansas City and fell out of the team’s linebacker rotation last year.
Turning 32 before the season, Williams will be greeted by a tepid market in unrestricted free agency.

Tepid Market? He needs to hire Drew Rosenhaus as his agent and there will be a market for him.
The guy played hard
Why put up the issue of saving cap space when you also state that he’ll be turning 32? The age factor is weighed much heavier than his minuscule cap number when the Chiefs already have 5 TRILLION dollars of cap space.
I was under the impression this happened at least a year ago.
Are they thinking about Manning…?
How many announcers have called this guy Mario Williams?
I hear it all the time.
