Kareem McKenzie, an 11-year veteran who spent four seasons with the Jets and seven with the Giants, won’t be spending a 12th year in New York.

Unless he returns to the Jets.

McKenzie, who has started all but seven games since 2005, has been informed that he should “go shopping” for a new team, according to Tara Sullivan and Jeff Roberts of the Bergen Record.

The 32-year-old lineman becomes a free agent on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. ET.

If he’s willing to play dirty, I know a team called the Saints that will sign him.

Good. He was horrible last year and got worse during the playoffs.

All I can say is thanks for the years McKenzie. You were a productive lineman at the RT position and mostly had good-great seasons. Really though this year he also had a done year and even before that he was starting to show signs of declining. The Giants can’t afford to pay him a lot of money if they did want him back. I wish him well though, and am glad he has 2 rings.

Not a bad career by all accounts.

Go out on top and retire. You had a respectable, solid career and two Super Bowl wins. Save your health, spend some well deserved time with the family, and walk away from the game with ring number two gleaming in the sun.

An absolute class act. Kept his mouth shut and went to work every day. Was a VERY good player in his prime. Thanks Kareem!

He was good until the end of 2010. This year he was progressively got worse; culminating with that awful stretch where he nearly got Eli killed throughout the playoffs.
