Welcome to the Bay Area Mr Trufant. This is exactly the kind of player that Baalke likes to sign and we’ll need depth or maybe even a starter at CB next year.

Thank you so much for your time with Seattle. You were one of the leaders of the defense during the most successful period in team history.

That said, age has started to catch up. The defense actually improved when Browner and Sherman took over. Trufant will make a nice pickup for a team desperate for a starter or who needs a solid nickel back, but his days as a shutdown corner were over a couple of seasons ago.

Tru has been a very good player, injuries have slowed him the last few years though. Then the emergence of the DB’s made him expendable. I actually hope he goes and kicks some tires and realizes he can come back as a back up and retire a Hawk. Nice when a classy guy retires playing his whole career on one team.

I see him going to the 49ers. It worked for Carlos Rogers.

If not there, I can see a team like the Lions offering him a 2-year, $7M deal, which would be hard for him to turn down.

One of my favorite hawks. Very reliable player over the last decade. One of the final players remaining from the Holmgren era. Deffinetly could see a team like the Patriots taking a look at this guy. Hate to see him leave but love the emergance of Browner, Sherman and Thurmond . Now lets convert Mike Williams to tackle and sign Reggie Wayne !!!!! Hahaha

Seems like a fit in New England. Belichick has a history of taking DBs in the later parts of their careers. Rodney Harrison, Tyrone Poole, Duane Starks, Chad Scott, Shawn Springs, and Leigh Bodden have all found themselves in New England at the end of their careers. Trufant could be the next one to make that route.

Maybe a team like New England can get him. They have made plenty of signings like this in the past. Trufant can still play and contribute to a team. I’m sure they can get some production out of him.
