Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw struggled with a foot injury for most of the 2011 season, missing four games. And the foot still hasn’t healed.

Mike Garafolo of the Newark Star-Ledger reports that Bradshaw underwent a procedure last week on the foot, but that it wasn’t surgery.

Garafolo is right. A league source tells PFT that Bradshaw received a platelet rich plasma-type of injection to help heal the foot. Bradshaw still doesn’t need surgery, and the prognosis is positive.

Still, until the foot is 100 percent, the Giants should be concerned. And that could give Brandon Jacobs a little leverage in talks aimed at reducing his cap number in 2012 and extending his contract into 2013 and beyond.

Jacobs is due to earn a $500,000 roster bonus this month, and a $4.4 million base salary.
