Too bad Mr. Silva didn’t triple check his sources before he broke this story as do many preemptive media outlets do. Manning did not say out of his mouth that he would not play for the Redskins but the scenario is unlikely. Twisting around facts is a good way to make yourself look less credible than you already do.

Least unexpected rumor about Manning are reports he wants no part of playing for the Redskins. Obviously he would prefer not to play in the same division as Eli. Even though he respects Shanahan, I’m sure he would scoff at being tutored by the little Shanahanling. Biggest reason of all is nobody who has “eff you” money would ever willingly become Danny Snyder’s shiny new toy.

Also, I’m sure Manning didn’t want to “learn” the secrets of playing quarterback and be taught hidden gem of knowledge that is “the system” run by Megamind and his 32 year-old kid.

Mike Shanahan is not a good evaluator, but ask Steve Young if he knows how to coach QB’s. All it would take is a guarantee to Manning from Shanny that Mike would be the coach and Kyle would gofer coffee.

Why does no one consider this interest in Peyton a smokescreen coming from the smokescreen master, Shanahan?

All these sources “familiar with the situation” were probably the ones telling all the Post writers that the Beckinator was a shoo-in to start out of the preseason.

I live in the DC area. You have no idea how many of these poor fans were talking about getting Manning AND RG3. Hopefully this report will help their delusional souls get off the Manning train.

Still gonna suck to hear them slobber all over RG3. That is, until the Rams trade that pick to some other team. At which point I’ll laugh!

Just imagine what Manning will do with the Fins receivers…

He’ll have Marshall and Wayne as the 1st and 2nd option.
He’ll have Hartline and Bess in the slot, and they’re numbers will explode.

Maybe they can grab Landry or another good Free Agent. Draft best player available with the 8th pick and a TE in the second round.

As a skins fan, I don’t think Manning is a good fit. I am sick of us getting a veteran with a few years left. We need great draft picks and a few free agent signs of players that have a good 7 years in them.

Not only does he not want to deal with the Shanahans, he doesn’t want to deal with whatever has-been Shanny gets replaced with when Snyder cleans house after another success-free season.

Washington is a great place to go if you’re a big ego looking for a huge payday (like Haynesworth), but if you’re a serious football player who wants to actually win something, not so much. Not since Snyder took over.
