"Steelers.com explains why WR Mike Wallace wasn’t franchise tagged."

----------------------------------------------------------

Steelers.com felt it necessary to publish a story explaining why?

Everyone with any brains at all knew the reason already.

They can't afford to do it without cutting several players.

And they'd rather hang onto a bunch of slow, old geezers than
keep a young guy who is getting ready to enter his prime.

It's stupid moves like this that make me confident &
happy that the Steelers will be a very bad team sometime soon...

On Twitter last night Keith Rivers told local beat writer Joe Reedy "do not report things that are obviously not true". Maybe Keith is just trying to protect his leverage in signing with a new team when he's done in Cincinnati, but you'd think teams would be able to find out if he really did have that problem, so why would he take to Twitter to defend it?
