Your comments are dead-on. The reason people like to diss Rodgers and the Packers is because jealousy breeds contempt.

His opinion of Flynn matters. Think of it…..he is saying Flynn will come out-of-the-gate ranked in the top fifteen, not someday….NOW. In effect he is saying Flynn can only get better. High praise indeed and he ought to know.

I can’t believe the outrage that Rodgers said this backup QB was only a top-15 QB. Somebody refresh my memory. Who was the last 7th-round draft choice backup QB that hit free agency and became a star? It’s hard to keep track of all of them.

Ya know folks, there is not any QB in this league that is bad. Just some that is not as good as others. Also many teams that do not have the same quaility of players. If Flynn is lucky enough to get a good team he will do well, if not, well….

The thought that Green Bay’s system is the sole reason Aaron Rodgers is successful, is idiotic. You sir, are not particularly smart, are you? I suppose you think that all of the teams with losing records are lacking a superior system. They lose not because their talent isn’t up to par, but because they aren’t using a system like Green Bay’s or New England’s. In order to be an elite quarterback you need to have physical skills and the mental capacity to make it work. Not to mention, unparalleled drive and determination. When Rodgers first entered the league I had no idea what to expect. My expectations were not high because I didn’t know much about him. It turns out that he not only possesses the physical and mental skills to play at a high level, but he is pretty tough as well. The dude also cracks me up. He’s pretty humorous.

Wow, Matt Moore was the number 12 rated passer in the NFL this past season. He did this with the #30th rated OL in the NFL and did not have a speed receiver. Paying Matt Flynn a lot of money will not be worth it. However paying Peyton Manning, if he is healthy will be worth the investment.

I think top 15 is too generous. Any team that signs him, isn’t only a QB away from being a great team. Too many variables, WR, Line, RB’s, System, etc.

If Aaron would of said “Matt Flynn will be a starting QB next year”, then that would of been enough. Top 15 is just unrealistic at this point, and was said just because they were teammates.

People saying this is a diss are really, really stupid. Yes, top 15 out of 96 qbs or so on NFL rosters. As the poster noted above, top 15 puts you in a class of quality qbs. But by all means, go on with your uninformed hatred.

Earlier I posted that both Flynn and Tebow have the same number of SEC and NCAA championships but Tebow started three years and Flynn started one.

Apparently that doesn’t fit the media’s portrayal of Tebow as the ultimate “winner” and the post is now gone.

Is that really so offensive it needs to be deleted? Unbelievable how the media has Timmy’s back.

Also, nobody would say Flynn is better than Rodgers, Brees, Brady, Eli and a healthy Peyton Manning. You can’t put him ahead of Rivers, Roethlisberger, Stafford, Ryan, and maybe Cutler. We have to wait and see how good Newton and Luck will be. But the next group of guys like Schaub, Romo, Vick, and Flacco, you can make a case that Flynn will be as good or better than those guys. There’s no doubt he’s better than guys like Sanchez, Palmer, Tebow, etc.

Top 15 Rodgers did not say what number in the top 15 my guess is that will be determined by Flynn himself.

Saying someone is top 15 is not saying anything bad about a person. Right now where would any of you put Andrew Luck?

Flynn will have to work hard which I expect him to do so. Where he ends up in the top 15 is up to him not Rodgers.

You mean the west coast offense? Fine, then you have to say the same about Favre, Montana and Young.

You would also have to point out the countless West Coast offense QBs who just sucked. If it’s just the system, then Brian Brohm would have amounted to something. Joey Harrington would have been great under Marriucci in Detroit. Maybe, just maybe, Flynn will be more Matt Hasselbeck or Mark Brunell than Kevin Kolb or Scott Mitchell.

Once again, PFT twists a quote. Rodgers said Flynn’s new team would “be getting a top-15 quarterback.” That means he’s already there – as a backup. This article makes it sound like Rodgers said that Flynn could only possibly become a top 15 QB, maybe later. Rodgers’ statement was a compliment and should not be taken any other way.

Matt Cassel and Kevin Kolb and now Matt Flynn….don’t expect Packer fans to see the logic or the pattern. There was a reason Flynn was drafted where he was, there’s a reason he’s been a backup and this is not sarcasam but I would submit it’s the same reason that other QB needy teams never pursued a trade with the Packers for the past two years…….the experts see and know something that Packer fans always seem to wear colored glasses when evaluating talent. Not even his old offensive coordinator, Philbin, seems to have a high level of interest in him and that my Packer friends “says a lot”.

I keep hearing the association of Flynn to Kolb or Cassel, Niether of the latter 2 threw for more yards or anything close to as many touchdowns as Flynn in one game. Sure it could be a fluke, but that is one amazing fluke, considering the man’s predecessors. Let’s not forget this guy won a National Championship at a big time school, while that isn’t as telling as one would expect, it does show he has pedigree for big games.

The Packers did not franchise Flynn… Therefore can not get a second rounder in trade for him.
They may however, get a 3rd as compensation for the 2013 draft.

Because he had two good games, one in New England against the Patriots, and one where he broke nearly every single-game record in team history (a history that contains QBs like Favre and Rodgers).
