This guy is a complete waste of talent. All I remember about Martellus, (at one point, I thought Dallas would have the best TE tandem duo of all-time) is that he is very childish and it really showed up on the field. His mind never really seemed to be 100% focused on the game and he consistently dropped balls, ran around aloof, and was flat out embarrassing at times. He definitely didn’t give 100% to Dallas and if someone were willing to pay this guy anymore than 1.5-2.0$, I assume they would be paying him for his lockerroom entertainment value and not his football ability. If it were true that Dallas was offered a #1 in exchange for MB, from the Bengals, that may go down as one of the biggest blunders JJ has ever made.

Don’t let the doorknob hit you on the way out Marty.

He wants to be a #1 target but he doesn’t want to work hard or do anything to deserve it. He just wants to be handed significant playing time and 100 targets a year (if not more, since he’ll drop half the passes he gets), but he doesn’t seem to get that no one gives you anything in the NFL, you have to earn it. I don’t think he’ll catch 60 passes in his CAREER

I had high hopes for this kid when we drafted him back in ’08. He never rose to the potential I saw and he made some embarrassing gaffes both on and off the field while constantly churning out mediocre play.

He is a low-effort guy who plays below his athletic abilities and he has stone hands. Big money contracts don’t make the light go on for guys like that, and it isn’t a “system” issue like his comments suggest. The staff here was willing to give him the ball but he underperformed most every time they called his number. Good luck, Bennett, but good riddance as well.

He’s got the size and physical attributes. But he seems lazy and doesn’t make anything happen when he gets chances. Can’t catch, can’t run routes, gets penalized…. He could have learned from one of the best TE’s in the game, but he apparently didn’t.

Bennett is a great blocker. But great blocking TE’s are post draft FA’s.

Marty has the B word becsuse of the round selected. He is still useful and he will probably get more money than he deserves because there is always one team that pays for ‘potential’.

Looking forward to Marty B leaving Dallas. He’s lazy, uninspired, and unfocused. Instead of learning with Witten he let a 3rd stringer John Phillips, steal his spot. Maybe if he becomes a #1 TE he’ll play smarter and better… I just don’t think so. See ya Marty B. Good riddance my dude.
