The Raiders Secondary was the weak link last year keeping the Raiders out of the Playoffs which they should have easily made.

Giving up 30 + points to the Bills in less than a half of play. Taking a game that was all but won against Detroit and giving up 20 + points in less than 4 minutes.

And on and on I could go. Routt giving up a near NFL leading 9 TD’s, not to mention the 17 or so penalties many being pass interference giving up huge yards. Add in his burn rate went from a league low of 30 sum % in 2010 to almost 50% in 2011 and the Raiders did not lose much.

Johnson is getting older and was eat alive when he was healthy enough to play last year. Coach Allen game planned against the Raiders last year and at his Press Conference stated the Raiders had huge problems in the secondary.

Who ever they bring in can do no worse and for a whole bunch of less money.

If Allen game planned against the Raiders defense last season than he wasn’t doing his job…as he was a Defensive Coordinator last season, and would have only focused his attention on the Raider Offense….

I loved Chris Johnson.. as a person.

I didn’t like him as a player. He just was not good.

With that said though – as it stands right now, the Raiders have the worst secondary in the NFL.

However – I am hoping this means we are picking up two corners in free agency.

Why would Carr want to play for the crap stain that is the Raiders when he can where a star on his helmet?

Now that’s the type of message a stereotypical Raider fan would write. The Raiders released Hiram Eugene (failed physical) and Chris Johnson.

The real truth: He’s a solid, capable starter who I would like them to bring back. The guy can play and will certainly be contributing for someone this season, prob as a starter, but $3.5 mil is prob a tad high and a decent rookie or minimum salary guy can provide similar production at a reduced cost.

A team like the Lions would be wise to scoop him up as he’d instantly become their No.1 cb and ultimately, a solid No. 2
