Jesse Holley defends Tony Romo as Cowboys’ leader

Although it hasn’t reached a Mark Sanchez-level of hysteria, questions have been raised this offseason of whether Tony Romo is really the leader the Cowboys need in their locker room. One man in the Cowboys’ locker room says Romo is exactly the leader Dallas needs.

Cowboys receiver Jesse Holley was asked on KESN whether the Cowboys ought to be in the Peyton Manning sweepstakes, and he replied that the Cowboys are just fine where they are with Romo.

Tony does a great job at being a leader,” Holley said, via the Dallas Morning News. “Tony is the leader of our team.”

The Cowboys’ official company line is that they can win a Super Bowl with Romo, and Holley agrees with that.

“Tony is a very good quarterback,” Holley said. “We are very happy with him. I’m pretty sure the organization is happy with him. You have to give Peyton a look. It’s protocol. If you’re an owner, you have to do it. The look to me will be very quick. Tony is our guy. This is who we started with and this is who we’ll finish with. Here in Dallas, we’re led by Tony Romo.”
