The following will happen:
1) Peyton signs with the Broncos after making them agree to pay him at least a guaranteed 50M contract with 5M bonus if he wins SB.
2) Tebow gets traded to wherever that genuinely wants his service and allows him to grow as a franchise QB.
3) In the first game of 2012, Peyton got hit bad, so he’s out for the season.
4) Broncos have to send the backup QB to play for the rest of the season. But this backup QB is not Tim Tebow, so the Broncos will end up 6-10 for the season. Not bad enough for first draft, but not good enough for playoff. In the meantime, they have to continue to pay Peyton the guaranteed 50M.
5) Meanwhile Tebow and his new team is going to the playoff.
6) I’ll be LMAO at Elway & Co because KARMA is at work.

Not necessarily so. IF the Colts had the third pick instead of the first, Peyton would still be a Colt. Kind of like how the Niners jettisoned Montana because they had Young in the wings. Montana showed that he still had plenty with the Chiefs, taking them to the playoffs both seasons that he was there, this after having sat out an entire year and part of another with an injury while still with the Niners. Sound familiar?

Peyton Manning is such an amazing competitor, & loves football more than most could possibly understand. This whole thing must be really difficult, & I am really hoping for him to play a few more years. He has, & will try his absolute best I am sure. I have no doubt that he will play again, but throwing in shorts always falls short of the physical demands placed when a 300 lb Defensive End tries to “respectfully” take his head off. Not to suggest that programs like that exist lol.

You missed a story Mike. Rotoworld reported that Manning has been throwing 50 yard passes and has brought video of his throwing workouts to teams for them to look at. Very surprised you missed this.

Teams don’t care if Manning can throw TODAY. They only care if he will be ready to throw in September. They need to evaluate the doctors reports, not Manning’s throwing ability. As long as he is healthy enough to play, then you know he will be ready to throw in September. When Miami low balled Drew Brees, he was still in rehab and could not throw. Insisting on seeing him throw didn’t work out so well for Miami in 2006.

Since he apparently isn’t throwing (or doing proverbial sit-ups in his driveway), then I assume he can’t throw to any meaningful degree, so why bother. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t have numerous medical reports detailing status of the rehab, etc. If he can approach 85%+ by the 3rd or 4th week of the season (ie 6+ months from now), he should be very valuable. As some said, he improves team revenue due to ticket and merch sales. He improves team offensive “smarts” even if he is on the sideline. And if he can throw reasonably well at some point, he will be better than 75% of the QBs in the league.

No one knew the Peyton Manning medical situation as good as the Colts. And they were scared off and passed on him. So I say no way should a team take him without demo’ing the goods. And even that won’t fully tell the story. He is literally one bad or freakish hit away from a life threatening situation. Unless I was a championship caliber team that only needed that missing piece, I wouldn’t touch him. And I am a huge Peyton Manning fan. He’s one of the game’s immortals.

But the bottom line is this IMO. History is pretty clear about fading, injured superstars changing teams and systems. They are mostly Fool’s Gold. Unitas, Namath, Montana, Favre and now, Peyton. they are often like old boxers. Incapable of knowing when it’s over. I truly wish Peyton would just hang up the cleats. He has already done it all in my book. It would break all of our hearts to see him get a catastrophic injury because of this quest with strangers.

Manning came out the SUV of Whisenhunt with a big big sports bag. I don’t think he had his lunch in it. Fitzgerald was there. After he left Roberts entered the building. Another Cardinals Wide Receiver. I don’t know why no one of the reporters can see the possibility that he threw the football for the Cardinals. Roberts was the 3rd or 4th Receiver on the depth chart last season. I don’t think they brought him into the facility to recruit Peyton.

The Colts are moving on from Manning because they have the #1 pick with a young franchise QB coming in.
Better to pay the kid, start fresh and save $28 mil.
The owners who are looking to pay Peyton boatloads of $$$ are looking to put “asses in seats”. Don’t blame Peyton.
Those who spew against Peyton are obviously fans from the AFC South, and obviously bitter about the 10+ years of getting smoked repeatedly.

I think he threw in AZ. Fitz was there for 3 hours and when he left, Andre Roberts showed up at the facility.

So Peyton got to meet with 2 Cardinal receivers yesterday. No reason to bring in a #3 receiver to meet with Manning unless he was catching passes, is there?

It’s giving them way too much credit, but let’s say for the sake of argument, Miami told Manning’s camp that if they met, they expected him to throw and Manning’s people said no.

No sense meeting at that point……

Hate to break the news to some folks, but Flynn’s track record and Tebow’s “growing pains” are still better than a 36 year old QB coming off FOUR neck surgeries who still refuses to throw a ball before he signs a contract. This is not Peyton Manning circa 2004.

And people say Tebow’s supporters are drinking the Kool Aid????
