I seem to recall that your ‘g-men’ traded a nice draft pick among a multi-player trade to the Vikings to get Rosenfels after Favre arrived. There was a lot of happiness in NY at that point. Sage was a pretty hot commodity back then. He and Tarvaris Jackson have much in common. And congrats on making up the ‘fangirls’ thing. Nobody’s ever used that one before. Clever you. yes the vikes are wasting joe webbs athletic ability, the problem is there is no place to put him, if he could actually catch they would have put him at wr past 2 or 3 years, its obvious he cannot catch (aks troy williamson), thats why he stays at qb, i think this is just another sign of organizational ineptness that has been wasting a roster spot for 4 years. if he has the ability to do something, put him in a position to use that athletic ability, if not then try a trade, there are enuff holes on this roster to pick up a valuable draft pick or up and coming star instead of wasting away a roster spot that does not get used to full potential…..and i have always wondered with his speed why webb is not used in the return game at all, must be the hands.

Also, I love how guys are saying “Oh he’s a good backup because he’s a veteran”. Yes he’s a veteran, but he’s a veteran who has only started 12 games and only managed to win half of the those.

Rosenfels is a better passing QB than Joe Webb, so yeah, most Viking fans are happy with this move.

Seriously, the Vikings are WASTING Joe Webb’s outrageous athletic abilities trying to play him at QB. He doesn’t have the arm or throwing accuracy to be decent at the NFL level.

Please, please move him to WR where he can actually be productive!

They traded for Rosenfels because Spielman loved him. They traded him and their punt returner away for a bag of practice balls because Childress loved T-Jack despite his inability to complete a pass during the entire preseason.

no, chili did NOT like the guy, it was Spielman who wanted Rosenfels. chili was albout Favre & TJack, thus the reason Rosenfels never got a fair shake in MN. Chili basically killed his career by having him on roster & never letting him play, b4 Favre chili was all bout T Jacks developement

I understand that the Vikings have two young, developing quarterbacks on the roster in Ponder and Webb, but Rosenfels could be #2 elsewhere. He’s at the point in his career where he’s not clamoring to unseat the starter. The Vikings were smart to lock him up before he became an unrestricted free agent.

Part of me hopes Sage wins the job through competition. I’d like to see what he could do with the opportunity. I still feel the Vikings reached drafting Ponder as their first pick last year. Ponder needs to shake the injury bug and the happy feet.
