Getty ImagesTight end John Carlson has hit the open market, and he may not be there for a long.
Per a league source, Carlson will visit the Chiefs. But several teams are interested, including the Colts, Buccaneers, Bears, Vikings, Cowboys, and his current team, the Seahawks.
A Minnesota native who played at Notre Dame, Carlson missed all of 2011 with a torn labrum in his shoulder. In three seasons before that, he appeared in 47 regular-season games, with 36 starts.
Carlson has 137 career receptions, for 1,519 yards and 13 touchdowns.

John Carlson looks like he is going to cash in for some big bucks.
Really? Cowboys? John Phillips and Jason Witten are clones of this dude.
Stay with us Johnny!
The Giants are probably interested also..
Kyle Rudolph & Carlson, beast mode TE duo!
tampa aint messing around
Carlson would be a perfect fit for his hometown Vikings where he would join fellow ND TE Kyle Rudolph.
As a Seahawks fan, this guy is going to make some team very happy. He has showed that he can be a #1 TE when healthy and free to go out and catch passes and not block. He’s not a great blocker anyhow, not physical for his size.
Seahawks simply can’t afford to pay him big money since they have Zach Miller under contract.
Seattle needs to keep Carlson and Zach Miller.
Redskins are reportedly interested as well, at least according to local (wash dc) sports radio.
Would love to see this. Sounds like some tough competition…
The duel TE threat would be nice.
About Miami?
I agree with @stealthhawk…Carlson was a beast in the pass catching department who used to work the pre-Harbaugh 9ers. He is going to surprise the fans of whatever team signs him.
Having watched him the last few seasons in Sea – overrated, terrible in the clutch – I wouldn’t want him back in Sea for 1/2 the salary
if i’m the Colts, i get this guy! they need some offense.
Andrew Luck to John Carlson!
