The Dallas Cowboys are moving on from veteran inside linebackers Keith Brooking and Bradie James, and attempting to get younger at the position.
Sean Lee, 25, is entrenched as a starter at one of the inside spots. 2011 second-round pick Bruce Carter, 24, is a candidate to fill the other.
The Cowboys want competition for Carter, however. A league source tells Florio that Dallas has scheduled a free agent visit with Dan Connor.
Connor, 26, is a quality run-stopping inside ‘backer who was underutilized in Carolina for most of the past four seasons. He was playing behind Jon Beason. Connor still earned 19 starts, tallying 156 tackles and a forced fumble.
Connor is the 36th overall player on PFT’s Free Agency Hot 100.
