Thomas won’t be 100% this year, but there is a very good chance he will put the injury behind him in 2014.

I agree with signing Thomas over Ross, but I have more respect for Ross than many. He has something you can’t easily get: the experience of two championship runs. And he played extremely well this postseason.

These are the moves that you look back at and are really happy about. Terrell Thomas might never be mentioned as one of the top corners in the game but he plays his position and does it very well. When you have a defense like the New York Giants, you don’t need Revis-like corners, you can get by with good ones. Corey Webster, Thomas, Antrell Rolle, and hopefully someone other than Deon Grant and the Giants have a pretty explosive backfield.

You’re right, the 100 tackles are all because thomas gave up yards in the passing game. Nothing to do with stopping the run, penetrating the line and getting his nose dirty. Show me that stat where receivers caught 100 balls on him.
I like TT, hes good in coverage but what always caught my eye was his size and ability to stop the run. Hence the tackles, cowboys fan.

Giants’ fan here who disagrees. This is TT’s 2nd ACL and we are signing him over a CB who has started in 2 SBs. For long periods this postseason, the pass rush was dormant. The secondary played lights out. I hope Reese finds a way to keep Ross.

Solid move by the Reese and the G-Men. I don’t share the overexcitement as alot of you on the board here as Thomas is coming off a second torn ACL, which is never good. He will be solid not spectacular. Regardless, it is an upgrade over Aaron Ross. Then again, if you pulled Perry Williams or Elvis Patterson off the couch at this point, it would be an upgrade over Aaron Ross.

G-Men now need to address offensive tackle, LB, running back, TE and a #3 WR. Probably will be addressed in the draft, as not alot of room under the cap.

baas lowered his salary from 3 mil to 900k…the difference becomes a bonus…gets the giants 2 mill more under the cap (which probably went to terrell thomas)

Great signing, I was never really high on Aaron Ross and Terrell Thomas can be a great nickel corner.

Anyone else love the idea of the Giants going after Mike Tolbert? Could be a perfect compliment to Bradshaw and he runs the way Brandon Jacobs never did. He’s a north-south runner who keeps his legs moving, instead of dancing around and falling down.

Thank you, I was scared. TT learned from Steve Smith’s mistake, coming off injury you should re-sign with team for 1-2 years, get healthy, and then get your top FA $.

I felt so bad for TT last year. He was our best CB (yes, better than Webster) and was on the verge of being a top 10 in the league. He should be back to form by midway point and them him and Webster together should be fun. Good job Reese. Now go check out how bad Benedict Arnold wants Eli back and see if we can get him for cheap.

I wouldn’t be so sure free agency will starting in 6 hours.

I wouldn’t be surprised to hear that a certain billionaire in Texas or DC is in court looking for an injunction to stop the opening of the league season pending certain “salary cap” related issues.

i think there’s a very good chance that the giants attempt to bring at least one of those guys back, maybe both. i think tolbert, and michael bush, will be out of the giants price range.

If this guy stays healthy all year round, the G-Men’s defense will be just as dangerous as they were during the later part of the 2011 season and playoffs. One of the best tacklers in the game today.

Good move for the Giants as Thomas was a budding star. Put him with Webster and last year’s first round pick Amukamara, and the Giants have a lot of potential in the secondary. And considering Thomas’s injury was in the preseason last year, he should be fully healthy for the start of this coming season. This gives the Giants the ability to focus elsewhere in the draft.
