Getty ImagesTania Ganguli of the Florida Times Union reports that the Jaguars have re-signed safety Dwight Lowery to a four-year contract.
Mostly a cornerback with the Jets during his first three NFL seasons, Lowery’s career took off at free safety in Jacksonville last year. The 26-year-old keyed the Jaguars’ pass defense turnaround, manning center field in coordinator Mel Tucker’s system.
We had Lowery rated as the 40th best player in free agency.

Now let’s see what else jags can do with WRs
I’ll take it!!! Good Night!
With them moving so slowly on resigning Mincey and Not getting busy on signing any receivers, along with how abnormally fast free agency is starting off this year, this is at least some relief we wont lose the best safety we’ve had in years !
Good thing the Jets traded him away for almost nothing…not like they could use a decent safety in the rotation.
Awesome !!
Good player.
Good move.
I shutter to think what the secondary would look like without him.
