The Rams have scheduled a Friday visit with free agent cornerback Cortland Finnegan, and they plan to be aggressive in the meantime.

Jeff Duncan of the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports that St. Louis has “reached out” to free agent cornerback Tracy Porter. Porter played for Rams defensive coordinator Gregg Williams with the Saints. Williams’ expected bounty-scandal discipline has not stopped St. Louis from pursuing his former players.

Multiple reports, including one from Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, also have indicated that the Rams are showing interest in free agent defensive tackle Jason Jones. Jones will reportedly visit the Rams tonight.

Jones is the No. 11 overall player on PFT’s Hot 100 list.

St. Louis is the kind of town that can only attract former players of new coaches. Same as when Spags was there.

Thank God they got those draft picks, because no FA will want to stay or come to the Rams.
