Getty ImagesThe Seattle Seahawks will not lose defensive lineman Red Bryant in free agency.
Bryant, who started all 16 games and had an excellent season in Seattle last season, has re-signed with the team, according to NFL Network.
There was talk early this month that the Seahawks would use the franchise tag to keep Bryant, but they ultimately decided to let him test the market. Apparently all Bryant needed was an hour or two of freedom to decide that the best place for him was Seattle. And so the Seahawks are keeping one of their top defensive players.
Bryant is No. 45 on our Free Agency Hot 100.

great news!!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome love to see Big Red back where he belongs.
He’s a beast. Now his is rich.
Excellent. Keeping Big Red was big. Huge drop off in the D when he is out of the line-up.
Good start, pass rusher and QB upgrade next(FA or draft…don’t care which)
Finally some good news
5 years, $35 million, 14.5 guaranteed. Nice.
I would rather they sign Bryant and Hawthorne than wait around for Mario and lose both of them.
Love this move. Can’t wait to see what Pete and John have in store next.
He is perfect for the scheme in Seattle and might have been a big time disappointment to another team looking for a traditional defensive end.
DAMN!!! As a patriots fan really wanted this dude!
Excellent !! Keeping Red was a #1 move. I heard 5 years ? SWEET.
Now a great rusher, LB, QB, and backup QB, and a back up RB and were set!!!
very good sign, still need some more D and a QB. Hopefully they can still keep Hawthorne and possibly get mario or even Jason Jones.
Sweet ! Big red has great run stuff ability, a good leader, and can block the heck outta field goals. Now just sign hawthorne and well be good..
Seattle did the right thing in keeping him. Good DT.
SMART move seattle this guy is a beast!
Awesome move. Now they can focus on a pass-rush specialist in the draft.
Seattles D is gonna be scary good the next 5 years! God help the rest of the NFL if they can add another pass rusher!
As a Browns fan, he opened my eyes when he blocked two field goals in one game against the Browns. Poor blocking or not, that’s impressive. Congrats to him.
As a hawks fan, yahoo
good grief why do you pansies keep censoring me? all I said was most of the nation had no idea who Red Bryant was and if he was so great how come nobody money-whipped him.
