My source tells me that Carl Nicks will never play for the Vikings because of all the nasty things their fans have been saying about Carl’s beloved Saints on this site for three straight years.

Nicks said himself he wants to go to a situation where he can win and keep a high profile.

Minny and Tampa currently do not meet those standards.

As for Brees, it looks as if he is taking less money to keep nicks. That or the front office really pulled a fast one on him with the tag.

I don’t think this hampers their ability to keep Nicks. They offered a contract last night that he thought was worthy of consideration, and I can’t see them pulling the offer now that Colston is signed.

If anything, it lets Nicks (and Brees) know that the Saints are serious about contending

Question…how do the Bears get ALL this cap space??? Mario Williams, Julius Pepper, Carl Nicks, Brian Urlacher, Jay Cutler, Matt Forte, so on a so forth.

Maybe the commish office needs to see how much money they “dumped” in 2010.

It seems hard to fathom that the Saints would be able to pay fair market value (or slightly above) to keep Nicks on board. Seldom if ever do you see a back-to-back All-Pro hit unrestricted free agency, but we’re about to later this afternoon.

He’s doing the same thing to the Saints that he did to Nebraska. As soon as he was draft eligible, he dropped out of class to focus on the money in the NFL. Now that he is a free agent, he is dropping out of the Saints and focusing on the money in Free Agency. Forget that the Saints gave him a shot after being arrested in Nebraska and gave him a Superbowl ring. Show me the money is all he cares about.

Although it is fun to think about all these guys coming to the Bears, I can only assume that they are going to sign one big free agent. Now that player would be in one of their three biggest need positions: WR, DL or OL. Could be Mario, VJAX, or Nicks. They arent going to buy into all these players or even two of them. One big splash and then they disappear for a week before picking up 2nd and 3rd tier players that are without contract.
