Former Redskins and Raiders quarterback Jason Campbell had hoped to be a starter in 2012. But the jobs aren’t open.
And so he accepted a No. 2 spot with the Bears, where as quarterbacks go he’ll be an affordable understudy.
Per a source with knowledge of the contract, Campbell’s deal has a base value of $3.5 million. Specifically, he’ll receive a $2 million signing bonus, a base salary of $1.4 million, and a $100,000 workout bonus.
Campbell can also earn another $1 million in playing-time incentives.
