Getty ImagesThe Bucs have pumped a lot of money into their offensive line over the past three offseasons. They’ve signed center Jeremy Zuttah and new left guard Carl Nicks to pricey long-term deals since the 2011 season ended.
There was no room left for incumbent starting center Jeff Faine, and the club formally announced Wednesday that it has released him.
On paper, at least, Tampa Bay’s front five has a formidable look to it. They will start Donald Penn at left tackle, Nicks at left guard, Zuttah at center, Davin Joseph at right guard, and Jeremy Trueblood at right tackle.
The total value of those five players’ contracts is $168 million.

Dallas needs a center. Faine would be a good pickup, but I would rather see Myers – more expensive though
Sad to se Jeff go. May not turn to many heads, but a great football player. We made him the highest paid center in the league a few years ago. Good luck in the future Jeff …
thanks.. Big bucs fan.
Almost perfect, Trueblood is the only blemish. Go Bucs!!!
If Blount cant be consistent with these signings now, bring back Ernie G!!!
He played with his head as much as his body.I hope he taught Freeman a thing or two about reading defenses.
Would like to see the Eagles pick him up as a number 2 in case Kelce doesn’t improve or gets injured again.
See ya bro. the name on the back of my 52 jersey is URTEAMSUX so peace out we are going to rock this year
you are more than welcome in Indianapolis.
This guy was supposed to be the next Mike Webster. What a shame.
The only problem with the o line is trueblood. Lets get somebody to replace him because hes terrible
Has to be done, now that money can be put towards a LB, either Tulloch or Lofton would be nice additions at the appropriate price
