Free agent center Chris Myers to visit Titans on Thursday

Liz Mullen of SportsBusiness Journal reports that free agent center Chris Myers will visit the Tennessee Titans on Thursday.

Florio previously reported that Myers was on Tennessee’s radar.

The Titans are showing an awful lot of interest in interior offensive linemen, which is no surprise after they struggled so mightily to run block last season. They’ve also hosted center Scott Wells and met with free agent guard Steve Hutchinson.

Myers, 30, has been in a zone-blocking scheme with the Texans for the past four seasons. He’s started 80 consecutive games.

Titans and Bud Adams really want to put it to Houston. Adams will feel like an idiot if Houston gets a Super Bowl before the Texans.

Finally an offseason where we are actually linked to some good free agents

Meyers won’t play for the Titans trust me…..maybe you’ll get Payton though. Bud Adams could scare him off. What an idiot.

Anyone that pays Chris Myers “Mangold Money” of 7 yr 57 mil 27 guaranteed is NUTS. As a Texans fan, he is good, BUT not worth that kind of coin when you have Arian Foster in the backfield.

Titans may overpay just to keep him from Texans. Still wont’t matter, Texans 2012 AFC South Champs!

If Titans want better Run Blocking, why are they interested in Scott Wells? Packers have never been successful running up the middle due to Wells poor Run blocking skills.

Myers>Wells. Hasslebeck/Locker>Manning. I don’t understand why everyone is so enamored with former UT players to the point where we would rather pass up on the better center (Myers) and the brighter future (Locker). Instead of throwing big bucks at Peyton we should use that money to solidify our team as a whole for when Locker takes the helm. You have to let go of the past in order to embrace the future.
