Good for Pierre. He's a good #2 the Skins overpaid for so what else is new? They'll get RGIII, ruin him, and start all over again in 5 yrs. We would have love to have kept Garcon, but for about half the price. I don't see how he's going to get better without Manning coaching him. Granted, Manning didn't play last season, but don't think for a second he didn't drive those recievers insane with details. He works with them pretty much year round. RGIII isn't going to ever be a Manning, but he is very intelligent and a super aathlete. I see him as Vick with brains. But still ... he is going to need a coach for several years whereas Manning pretty much was the OC.

Pierre may do OK, but I have a feeling that he'll be waived or traded before his contract will be up cuz he won't won't have the numbers to back up the salary.

But being a Colts fan...I truly hope he ends up lighting it up, because he has amazing character and is a wonderful story.

Good for Garcon, at the expense of the retarded Redskins brass.

DuncantheP_ssy, your original post implied that Desean was somehow less durable and physically unreliable than Garcon, which in fact, is just not true. Desean has missed 3 games do to injury, regardless of whether it was from the concussion on the illegal hit by Dunta or it was any other injury. By comparison, Garcon has missed 4 games in that same span due to injury so your hilarious little reply, much like your life, was pathetic and pointless!
As far as your little " empty trophy case" comment, it's so funny and original! It might actually have stung a little if it had come from a fan of a team that's been relevant more than once in the past 20 years!!! But hey, look at the bright side, you have the Wizards, Capitals and Nationals terrific playoff runs to look forward to this year....oh wait.

For all those hating on Garcon, here's a little something to think about...

In 2011, Garcon finished the season with only 5 drops out of 123 targets. That's the 15th-best drop/target ratio in the NFL last year. Oh, and let's not forget he put up nearly 1000 yards on the worst team in the league with a string of terrible QBs at the helm. The Skins aren't paying Garcon based on what he did in the past, a bad habit they're finally trying to break, they're paying him based on his potential. Whether he lives up to this potential is another matter, but for now it is a good deal.

If my Skins sign a big named player, they're hated on. If we sign young talent with potential, we're hated on. If we sign old vets past their prime, we're hated on. Simply put, people love to hate our Redskins! It doesn't matter if we'd signed Jackson and Nicks, the Redskins Hating Nation would still have something negative to say.

Garcon is a young receiver that can stretch the field with his speed. Nothing at all wrong with signing this guy. He fits perfectly with what RG III and Shanny are accustomed to playing/coaching with. Josh Morgan has been widely viewed as an underutilized talent, yet those who hate the Skins can't see that either. We finally do something intelligent, and no love. I swear I'm shocked by the hating.

I even read someone who questions RG III's abilities, even though some PROFESSIONALS believe the Colts are thinking twice about who to draft. RG III is a super intelligent, super athletic QB who will excel what Cam Newton did as a rookie. Mark it down haters, we've finally acquired our franchise QB and it feels oh so good!

Umm....not winning more than 10 games since NINETEEN-NINETY-ONE isn't a "down slide".

It's a freaking avalanche.

2 seasons in double-digit wins....and you're going to talk crap on a team who has actually won a Super Bowl since the current years college GRADUATES have....EXISTED?

You just have Redskin envy bud. I would too if my team packed up in the middle of the night and left town because my owner couldn't get a deal to build a new stadium and decided to skip town instead. While I don't dislike the ravens, I can't stand gayven fans always hating on the Skins because they spend money and haven't gotten results for it. The whole winning the off season was apropos when there were acquisitions like Archuletta, Bruce Smith, Neon Dieon, etc...etc.... Keep in mind good old Ozzie can't draft QB, WR, or FB to save his life. Far all the hate you have because DC is a more wealthy city with much more culture/history concentrate on all the positive you have in your life instead of being so negative about a franchise that doesn't wear a terribly ugly uniform, and has a flying rat as a mascot. Here is a list of QB's Ozzie has drafted. Let me know how they worked out.
2011- Tyrod Taylor (burning the league up)
2008- Flacco (can't make decisions fast enough to get the Ravens to the SB with one hell of a line.)
2007- Troy Smith (no longer with the team)
2005- Derek Anderson (no longer with the team)
2004- Josh Harris (WHO???)
2003- Kyle Boller (but he could throw 60yds from his knees)
2002- Wes Pate (once again......WHO?)

The NFL is similar to a sine curve in that you have down years, and you have up years. The Skins have been on a down slide, but they are finally doing things the right way. Stop your hate spew. Not all of your draft picks/free agent signings have all panned out. Boldin hasn't lived up to his contract. You are hanging on to Ray Lewis too long. The Skins will win a super bowl before the Ravens do.

Love the Eagles taking care of there own with the start of free agency. Cole ,Herrimans and now Jackson. that will create a much better locker room! Shady is next to get signed up!

Skins fans need to pray they hit on the QB in the draft. it's a huge gamble to invest that much of your future draft for one guy and if you miss, well your in big trouble for a few MORE years!

Let's not forget that Jackson hurt himself out of considerable amount of money b/c he cant help being a punk.

Also I haven't seen the numbers yet but unlike Tampa the Skin probably structured the contract so that the cap hit was small.

Ah yes. Typical that the first 20 comments are filled with a bunch of dummy Eagles fans. Always. Is it that they are going schitzo by not having anymore of those 12-4 seasons and losing in the playoffs anymore? Must be.

Jackson is fast. He gets doubled and doesn't want to be on the Eagles. You would think they would pay him since all they have is Maclin, but I guess that's typical for the Schmeagles...they never have valued receivers.

As for Garcon, the 'skins are paying him Moss' salary and value character and hardwork. He should have less drops and less injuries...we shall see. It's a team in Shanahan's offense, not 2 players. All you Eagle's fans just need to face the music and purchase a Griffin jersey for this season.

I'm getting a chuckle from dirty-delphia talking about over paying and/ or going crazy during FA. How quickly we forget that they tried to buy every FA and a SB title last off season only to fall flat on their faces. Truely an embarrassment to be quite honest considering what you paid. Remind me how many trophies you guys have in that case, one, two, three??? Oh no, the Skins have 3 with the addition of RG3. Maybe you'll get all those turds to play this season. Maybe that dog murderer you call a QB can stay on his feet long enough to win a playoff game instead of in the dirt where he belongs. MAYBE LIL VICKY will go an entire season without crying about how unfair the refs are with their no calls? Maybe that fat turd of a coach(clearly a terrible father as well) could put a cheese steak down long enough to coach you guys to the SB considering everybody he bought last season. You'll probably just continue to be the most horrid fan base in the NFL/sports who talk all day b/c every other team in the NFC-E has accomplished the ultimate goal multiple times except for you. Next time you're gonna be all over our N*ts give us a heads up and we'll throw a little peanut butter on them for you for your pleasure!!! Here's to D. McNabb puking during the SB being the best way to symbolize your organizations SB past and future.
Cheers

Jackson was paid fairly for what he does, Garcon is way over paid. He is a average WR. Jackson is a duel threat and just because he had an off year (Where Vick was hurt for much of it and he still got 1000 yards) doesn’t mean his production won’t go back up.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

you mean all 3 games that Vick? Know what your talking about before you post .. Desean was crying like a baby over his contract thats why his production was down.

"Maybe I am the only one bugged by this but the “c” in Garcon’s name appears not to be an English letter."

--------------------------

That is because it is something called a cedilla. It actually is an English "c" it just has a cedilla underneath it, which signifies a soft c sound, like an S. Otherwise we would be pronouncing his name "Gar-Kon."

I am a Ravens fan, so I don't have a dog in this fight. (Sorry Vick). I like Garcon but he isn't in the same class as DeSean Jackson. Jackson dictates coverage. He is a threat to take it to the house every time he touches the ball. And his ability to return punts makes him all the more dangerous.

Any of you Redskin fans trying to come up with reasons that Garcon is better than DeSean are out of your minds. As I said, I like Garcon, but he is being paid as a #1 receiver and has never been more than a 2 or 3. You better hope he is as good as you paid.

Typical Redskin fans and typical Redskin team. They win the Vince Lombardi trophy of the off season almost every year and still manage to finish in the bottom of their division.
