Le’Ron McClain chooses the Chargers

At about the same time the Chiefs were adding running back Peyton Hillis, Chiefs running back Le’Ron McClain was making plans to stay in the division.

McClain has agreed to terms with the Chargers on a three-year deal, a league source tells PFT.

McClain spent one season in Kansas City after four in Baltimore.  Primarily a fullback, McClain rushed for 902 yards in 2008, his second NFL season.

Last year, he had 29 total touches in 16 games.

It’ll be interesting to see whether the Chargers give him more touches, or expect him to block for guys like Ryan Mathews.

Let that man carry the rock! He was a beast in 2008 when he got the ball.

He was a beast in 2008, but that’s an eternity for a RB

How many former Ravens draft picks will the Chargers be starting this season? LeRon McClain, Jared Gaither, Antwan Barnes, and Jarrett Johnson? Is this their plan to finally “get over the hump?”

he will do well in norv turners system.. mclain was a beast in cam cameron’s offense in bmore and cameron is a deciple of turners.. maybe tomlinson comes back for a final year as a situational back before he retires.. it sucked losing jackson and tolbert, but meachem is faster than jackson and i could see us adding another WR…

The chargers are done. They lost Jackson and replaced him with Meachem- downgrade. They signed McClain because they are going to lose Tolbert- downgrade. The chargers had a ten year window to win a championship, instead they found new and creative ways to underachieve. Karma for running franchise players out of town- Seau, Harrison, Brees, Tomlinson, Sproles….

Karma? then you simply don’t understand the NFL.

McLain was signed to replace Hester. Tolbert just might re-sign.

Based on this signing I expect him to fill Tolberts hole, so he should get plenty of carries, especially since Mathews hasn’t proved any durability.

This guy is done. Jamaal Charles was out. Thomas Jones was fried out. Leron McClain couldn’t beat out Jackie freaking Battle for carries.

He’s got goal line experience. He will take the Lorenzo Neal running plays that the Bolts have missed since Neal left. Bruise on brother!!
