Several reports surfaced Tuesday evening that the Redskins had signed free agent wide receiver Eddie Royal. They were quickly debunked, and as of early Wednesday Royal had not signed a deal.

However, Dan Hellie of NBC Washington reports that Redskins brass did dine with Royal late Tuesday. Per Hellie, owner Dan Snyder, G.M. Bruce Allen, and head coach Mike Shanahan were all at the dinner.

They ate at Morton’s steakhouse in D.C.

The Redskins signed two other receivers on Tuesday, luring Josh Morgan away from San Francisco and Pierre Garcon out of Indianapolis.

Should the team sign Royal as well, Santana Moss will have to start worrying about his roster spot.
