APBrandon Carr is the top cornerback left on the free agent market. He’s been in Dallas since Tuesday night, and longtime Cowboys writer Charean Williams reports Carr is close to signing with the club.
Per Williams, Carr’s contract is expected to be worth more than the five-year, $50 million deal agreed upon by Cortland Finnegan in St. Louis.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter confirms the lone holdup in the agreement is “a formality.”
Carr is the No. 8 overall player on the PFT Hot 100.
Stay tuned, because a signing looks to be imminent.

Everyone’s reporting it done for 5/50.1. A bit pricey but a necessity. Love it!
They signed him to a 5 year 50.1 year deal.
Cowboys should still look for a good CB in the draft. Mike Jenkins is unreliable, even when healthy.
Well, here is the reason the Bucs passed on him. Cowboys were willing to pay him money that the Bucs felt they could use elsewhere.
more than the $50 mil finnegan got? i like the idea of gettin carr but jeez the price… this kid’s gonna be great but can he live up 2that contract cuz i dont think finnegan will either and there both exceptional players
Make it happen and HOPEFULLY this works out..Him coming here will make him instantly the #1 cb on this team… Now just address D and O line in draft and we would me set..
More than Finnegan? Yikes, CBs making more than WRs now seems kinda crazy
Alright!
Now Brandon, you don’t have big shoes to fill. As long as you stop the opposing Wide Receiver from catching the ball just once in a while, you’re already a huge improvement over last year’s cornerbacks in Dallas.
been waiting on this update for two days now.
5 years 50.1 million for a 25 year old pro bowl CB
Weird, just heard on NFL Radio that he departed without a contract.
Thank god! Just let me know when I can order my Carr jersey!

lmao he has never been to the pro bowl. He wasn’t even the best cb on the chiefs. Cowboys overpaid Carr is a high end number 2 but not a number 1 cb.
