But, Stallworth, Armstrong, Paul and Banks could be getting the boot. Armstrong was signed to be a DeSean Jackson type player for McNabb — he wasn’t used much last year because he didn’t match the offensive style. Stallworth was cut last year, tho he was an important piece in the offense last year, he will not return. Banks is a waste a the position, KR yes but WR no — we can’t use a better KR, who can double as WR: Eddie Royal. Plus, Banks has no moves.

Paul is a blocking receiver, I’m not sure about him but he could be getting the boot onto Practice Squad.

He’s been the most dangerous guy on the team for many years. Probably still is. He has shown the ability to turn a game on a dime like few other people can. To not even have that kind of game-changing option available seems like a rash choice to me. Some other team is going to be very glad if he’s let go.

Royal’s a genuinely good guy and he may be able to reclaim the magic he had his rookie year under Shanahan…or he might end up missing more time to injuries like what has happened to him the last two years.

Perhaps, but not as rough as it’s going to be for Andrew Luck. Say what you will about my ‘Skins, but they’ll be a durn sight better than the Colts next year. Especially since the ‘Skins are moving to improve RGIII’s supporting cast.

Always a difficult thing to let go of a staple of a franchise, but Skins Nation wishes him the best.

A few years ago they drafted three pass catchers in the first two rounds. I guess they figured they need to try the same tactic but with free agency instead….like that was the issue.

Oddly, this salary cap punishment might actually force the Redskins to make some smarter moves.

Could it be that going for Royal, Morgan, and Garcon — three very young receivers, good character guys with high upsides — may actually be better for the club than signing Jackson, who is older and who has character issues?

And could it be that it will force them to make tough decisions on guys like Landry and Moss, that perhaps should be made regardless? I’m a bit bummed about Moss, because I think he has been a good team player, but I think he’s odd man out at this point and Royal may be better at this stage of his career.

The only “older” guy I want to see the commit to is Fletcher. He is a leader on defense and more than just a linebacker who can be replaced by another talented player…
