Basically, you were stuck starting the guy no matter what simply ecause of his cap number.

With the rookie cap, it makes a lot more sense for teams to go get the guy they want rather than hope he’ll be there in round 2. Draft “experts” have been ridiculously slow in adjusting their rankings with this fact in mind, which misleads fans into thinking certain players will be available at such-and-such a point. That old logic no longer applies.

My guess is that a team is going to like his athleticism, and take a shot on him in round 1. The question really is, how high in round 1?

Ryan Tannehill is a second round talent that was projected to sneak into the top 20 because of the dearth of QBs.

Now he is top 5? Good lord, these GMs can talk themselves into anything.
