Eric Winston to visit Chiefs on Thursday

Eric Winston AP

Florio reported Tuesday that free agent tackle Eric Winston drew immediate interest from the Chiefs, Dolphins, and Rams following his surprising release by the Texans.

Winston visited the Miami Dolphins on Wednesday.

Per FOX Sports’ Alex Marvez, Winston will follow that up with a Thursday visit to Kansas City.

Marvez also reports that the Ravens and Rams are showing “strong interest” in Winston. Winston has been a right tackle throughout his career. Of the teams named here, Kansas City, Miami, and St. Louis need the most help at that position.

Hopefully he doesn’t leave KC except to pack.

Come on Pioli, sign this guy. Coupled with the Hillis signing, the Chiefs would have an unstoppable run game. Cassel needs it!

I have no clue why the Jets aren’t showing interest in this guy…because Wayne Hunter is def not the answer right now or Vladimir Ducasse.

Since it’s highly likely that Cassel will be the starter for yet another year (ugh), KC needs to fill in one of their most glaring need at O-line and that is RT. So, don’t let this guy leave the town or it’s going to be long season with jittery Cassel behind the line.

If the Chiefs get this guy, I will feel a lot better heading into draft.

If we get him and draft Decastro, things will be looking good for this off season.

He’s visiting the Lions today or tomorrow. They can use some RT help and they now have 18-20 (my estimate) in cap space for the year.

You guys better hope your team signs him before he gets to Allen Park, he’s a quality player.

It’s time to put your money where your mouth is Kansas City. You talk about having a lot of room under the cap and you’re willing to spend on quality players. There isn’t one much better out there than Winston. And at a VERY needy position.
