Patriots schedule visit with free agent pass rusher Trevor Scott

Shalise Manza Young of the Boston Globe reports that the Patriots have scheduled a visit with free agent Trevor Scott.

Scott, 27, has played both weak-side linebacker and defensive end. He appeared to have a bright future after racking up 12 sacks during his first two NFL seasons, but Scott has been quiet ever since. A torn left ACL, suffered in November of 2010, may have had something to do with it.

Scott should be available for a minimum-salary deal. If so, he could be a low-risk, high-upside addition for the Pats.

  1. Pats will go

DE/OLB & CB with their 1st rd picks
Safety & WR with their 2nd rd picks
WR with their 3rd rd pick
OL with their 4th rd pick

  2. The Patriots have a history of poaching Raiders leftovers. Scott was a beast when healthy though. Hopefully he gets a chance to return to form. Would like to see him stay in Silver and Black for the minimum.

    You will b lucky to get 10 – 11 wins this year…

How did that “super bowl guarantee season” turn out for the Barnum and Bailey Jets? Dirty Sanchez really lit it up down the stretch. Better hope the Jets sign Stanton, he’ll be starting by week 8

  4. if 10 or 11 wins gets you in the playoffs, it’s good enough for me. As proven again this year, it’s all about the hottest team going into the playoffs, wins the Superbowl!

It’s hard to believe any Jet fans cried over their Superbowl guarrantee as you put it.
It’s also hard to believe any Pats fan didn’t cry over their superbowl season.

    GOT DRY EYES?

  6. dynaco: What is there to cry about when the Super Bowl champs won the game by capitalizing on opportunities they had throughout the game when NE couldn’t capitalize… Nice try on that one, clown.

Would hardly be believable if I said losing the SB wasn’t a disappointment, but tears? Hardly. A defense as leaky as a burlap sack, and they still made it to the SB? And even with Gronk hurt, they didn’t get massacred…. Disappointed, sure…who wouldn’t. But tears? Nah. There are other teams who ate it much much harder last year.

Truly one of the most idiotic comments I have seen. When your trash talk amounts to the Pats only getting 11 wins.

Yeah, that would be such a bummer.

    It’s logical (and my preference)

    So it wont happen.

    OL 1st rnd.

  10. … and the Law Firm double-checks that his cell phone ringer is still on … yup, it is. Damn.

  11. You only go to the Bills if they give you $50,000,000 guaranteed! All the current Bills are laughing and thinking they’d rather give up $50 mil just to get out of there.
