Chris Cook is 6’2″, 215 lbs….get real dude, you think he has to defend himself against a tiny woman…especially to the point where she has a perforated ear drum and a popped blood vessel in her eye….I’ve been attacked by an ex gf, and I just restrained her, no need to hit or choke…unless she’s got a weapon, “self defense” isn’t an option…and we all know he got off bc he’s an NFL player…anyone else would be seein jail time…

the only other person involved/in the same room was the claimed victim YET she changed her story several times, once a liar always a liar and u have lost all credibility!!

i dont approve of what cook did but in the court of law he is legally not guilty. that does not mean hes not a jerk, bad decision maker, or whatever, but he was in a bad situation trying to protect himself against a victim that had multiple changing versions of the incident.

no way can he be legally charged with anything.

ps. prosecuting attourney had a chance to plea case down and refused, if there is anyone to blame, it would be prosecutors going gung ho and not wanting to accept lesser charge plea deal.

why are most of you swearing that this guy is a criminal that just got lucky or got off? Is it a race or jealously thing? What proof do you have that he got off? you were not there when it happened and the mere fact that the woman changed her story once makes me wonder what else she lied about. Most of us get in relationships we later regret

Also, I would hope there would be no discipline from the league. unlike the Rothlisberger case, Cook wasn’t out in public,putting himself in a bad situation, acting like a fool. He was in an private residence and had altercation with his partner, and according to him it was self-defence, Big Ben can’t claim that

Good news. Would have been a real pain to have to fill another position, especially corner. Cook fits perfectly into the youth movement we’re starting here. All that side-show stuff is a private matter between him and his girlfriend anyway.

On the football side of things, Cook was just beginning to show himself to be a respectable NFL corner when the crap hit the fan last fall.

Now, do the Vikings keep him — if they do, he has still issues with the league regarding personal conduct.

If the plan was to cut him all along, can they do it now without concern for violating the CBA regarding player conduct?

Final question: if the court records show that he hit or choked her AFTER (i.e. late) the police showed up, would New Orleans have instant interest in him?

There isn’t a question of “bring him back.” The Vikings, with a serious amount of criticism from media, etc, chose to keep him on their roster with full pay until the legal issue was decided.

i would think “legally” impossibly to be charged when victim keeps changing story and cannot be trusted at all regarding telling an honest statement. once victim changed story once it makes it an easy decision for any jury. regardless if he did it or not, once victim changes story and cannot be trusted at all there is already “reasonable doubt”.
