The Cardinals signed Chansi Stuckey last offseason in hopes that he could at least push Early Doucet for the team’s slot receiver job. Stuckey made it into only nine games, starting none.

On Friday, Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports reported that the Cardinals have released Stuckey.

Stuckey was due $2 million, including a $1.75 million base salary and $25,000 workout bonus.

The Cardinals may explore using the savings to retain Doucet, who remains unsigned.
