The Chargers announced Friday night that they have finalized a two-year deal with safety Atari Bigby.
Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, it’s a $2.5 million deal that could max out at $4.5 million.
Bigby is a physical, 30-year-old defensive back who could compete with a draft pick for the Chargers’ starting strong safety job. The Union-Tribune San Diego has reported that Chargers G.M. A.J. Smith is a “huge fan” of Notre Dame strong safety Harrison Smith, and might consider him in the draft’s second round.
