NFL Network’s Jason La Canfora reports that the Broncos have scheduled a free agent visit for linebacker Geno Hayes, formerly of the Buccaneers.
Hayes, 24, made 45 starts over the past three years in Tampa. He was benched in November of last season for tackling poorly.
Hayes is undersized but athletic, and he could be a role player in pass coverage while also playing on special teams.
It’s worth noting that incumbent Broncos weak-side linebacker D.J. Williams is in danger of missing the first six games of the 2012 season due to suspension. Williams is challenging the ban.
